Out of the Loop

I have just not been blogging.  I want to.  I just don't have the time right now.  Work is crazy.  The holidays are crazy.  My life is crazy!  I really miss reading my favorite blogs and hope to have some time soon to catch up.

I have so many posts that I want to make....that I will make.

1.  Ashlyn's First Birthday
2.  Ashlyn's First year check up
3.  My Cara Box reveal
4.  My cocktail glass exchange
5.  Sandy Hook

That last one haunts me.  I have been mortified by the happenings in Sandy Hook.  I can't even think about what has happened without tears in my eyes.  I actually yelled at my husband this morning to turn off the TV because I just couldn't stand to hear it.

My heart is aching SO badly for those children and for their families.  This kind of tragedy effects everyone but people with kids....you just get it.  You get the grief.  You get the anger.  You get the sadness.

My daughter is only a year old but I also have a 10 year old nephew and you know what?  That could have been him.  I will write a post that's a little deeper that explains more about how I feel about this terrible tragedy but for now I leave you with this...

Hug your kids a little tighter, play with them a little longer, stop and listen to them a little more often, shower them with kisses every change you get and tell them you love them every single day.

Love and prayers for the families in Connecticut.

I'll be back in the loop soon.

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
