Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, your selective hearing has been getting worse and worse and you are really testing Mommy.  This little phase is causing you to have a lot of time outs!  I am planning to change your crib to a toddler bed in the next week so I'm hoping that change will give you a little encouragement to behave.  I wanted to wait until you turned 2 but I think you're ready now.

Dear Little Man, Mommy really needs you to work on the whole sleep thing.  Keep up with the cuddles buddy.  Mommy loves them.

Dear work, while I do miss being a part of something that doesn't involve coloring books and Disney movies, I don't really miss you.

Dear Scandal, I'm so mad I forgot to DVR you last night.  I'll have to go online and see if I can watch you there.

Dear blog, I know I've been neglecting you but I promise to try to post more and even work on a re-design soon.  I miss reading my favorite blogs every day and will try to get on that soon too.  I'm so far behind and I can't stand it!

Dear Glee, I don't watch you on a regular basis but I did watch the tribute episode for Corey and even though I don't know anything about the show, that episode made me cry.  Well done.

Dear Direct TV, not sure what the point is of paying for you when I can go online and watch all my favorite TV shows.  If Baby Girl wants to watch a movie, my Mom has hundreds of Disney movies on DVD.  I do love the DVR and will have a hard time giving it up but I think it might be time.

Dear readers, Have a good weekend!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
