Baby Bear is 4 Months Old!

Baby Bear is four months old already! He's actually almost five months old now but I never got a chance to post this so here goes.

Doctor's stats:

Weight 18lbs 7oz (95th %)
Height 25 3/8 inches (60th %)

The basics?

Diapers - Size 3
Clothing - 9 month, some 12
Food - formula
Sleeping - not enough!
Teeth - teething for weeks
Words - no words, just lots of coos and laughing
Favorite toy - puppy rattle, crinkle book

Well we all placed our bets on how big he was going to be at his 4 month appointment and I was almost exactly right.  He's such a tank baby and I love it.  I've had to get the clothing bins out multiple times because he's just growing so quickly.  He's wearing all 9 month clothing and even some 12 month stuff.

His sleeping has been getting better.  He suddenly started sleeping 4-5 hours but he only does it for 2 nights and then he has a bad night of being awake every 2 hours.  I wish I could figure out why.  We follow the same exact routine every night.  He actually sleeps worse on bath nights! I'm hoping that once his teeth pop through, he'll start sleeping a little better.

He's 100% formula fed now.  No, I'm not happy about it.  Yes, I'm struggling with accepting it again.  But he's fed and he's happy and that's all that matters right?

He smiles and laughs so much now.  He has the best belly laugh and I can't get enough of it.  His brother and sister are always trying to make him laugh.  Really, just about anything makes him laugh.  You can look at him a certain way and he'll laugh.  He's the happiest baby ever.

While he still prefers mama to anyone else, he has been way better when he's with other people.  He's been way happier when my mom or grandmother babysit and I'm happy about that.

He's starting to snuggle more.  He loves to be held and will lay his head on my chest and snuggle a little bit now and then.  He still doesn't like to fall asleep while being held.

His hair is wild and he has already gotten his first hair cut.  I can't believe I had to trim his hair already.

He's such a happy little baby.  He loves his brother so much.  No one makes him laugh like his brother does.  Ashlyn loves to help with him and loves to hold him.  He's so fascinated by everything they do and I think he's going to do things a lot faster so he can keep up with them.

Oh my sweet little rainbow,

You are such a happy boy.  You are ALWAYS laughing and smiling, even at strangers when they pass by.  Your belly laugh is the best and you really love to be tickled.

You are so fascinated by your brother and sister and you're always watching them.  You are also always watching the dogs.  They seem to have more of an interest in you, too, more so than your siblings.

You still don't sleep the best but I think you are finally starting to get yourself into a routine.  I hope that means that you'll sleep through the night soon.  Your teeth are so close to popping through so I hope that helps you sleep as well.

You are such a joy, my little boy.  I can't even imagine my life without you.

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
