Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, I think your new name is going to be Testy McTesterson.  You have been pushing the limits and trying very hard to get away with things.  While we still don't have too much in the way of tantrums, your sassy little attitude more than makes up for it.  Here's hoping you get over this little phase quickly.

Dear Little Man, despite the fact that I found you have four teeth cutting at once, you have been exceptionally happy this week.  I think you really love that you are able to sit up on your own now.  You seem to enjoy digging every toy out of your toy bin.  It's the cutest thing in the world when you sit and shake your little bells and rattles.  You have been pushing up on all fours more often so I'm sure you will figure out the whole crawling thing soon.  Keep it up buddy.

Dear Jillian, I have to tell you, week two has been a hell of a lot harder than week one.  But I'm hanging in there.  I'm a little nervous about what week three will bring!

Dear scale, you are being a bit of a bitch.  Even though you're not moving quite as much as I'd like you to, I can see and feel a big difference.  I might just have to boycott you for a while.

Dear Craigslist, you have been good to us so far.  We love the refrigerator we found and we are really hoping the outdoor play set I found will be perfect too.  Baby Girl really needs some time outside and that play set would be perfect!

Dear blog, this is my 600th post.  600!  That's a lot of posts!

Dear Miss Mandy, thank you so much for nominating me for a Liebster Award!  I promise I will get my answers posted next week.

Dear Steph, congratulations on your new baby boy!!!!  He's adorable!!!

Dear readers, thanks for your questions.  Hope you liked my answers.  Have a good weekend!

  1. BOYCOTT THAT SCALE ASAP! With all the muscle you're gaining it's going to piss you off majorly. 4 teeth at a time is hardcore, poor little baby! Sitting up though is fun so onto freedom we go. lol YAY for 600 posts! That's a lot of blogging. You better treat yourself to a drink for that

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
