Update 07/21/11

How far along: 19 weeks Size of baby: The size of a mango Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought anything new since my last online shopping spree but I am loving my maternity clothes. Gender: Still unknown!! Find out August 1st! 11 days! Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing as far as I know. I should start to feel her moving soon. What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Mostly carbs like potatoes, cheese fries, pasta, cheddar gold fish and still sweets! Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time but I haven't been having too much trouble with headaches. I am still very moody and my ankles swell up at the drop of a hat. We are still waiting to feel this baby move!! I have not felt any movement yet, that I'm aware of. I think we are both overly excited for that. No baby movement = me more anxious to get to my next appointment and make sure everything is ok in there! Aside from the terrible mood swings a...

Update 07/05/11

How far along: 16 weeks 6 days Size of baby: Almost the size of an onion Maternity Clothes: I bought a few more things from Motherhood Maternity online. I really love their clothes! Gender: Still unknown!! Find out August 1st! Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing as far as I know. I should start to feel her moving soon. What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Spaghetti, cheddar goldfish, potatoes, sweets! Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time and I am still getting headaches, which are pretty bad. I have been much more moody lately as well. Today's check-up was easy. I only gained 3 pounds since my last check-up, which is awesome. She measured my belly and she said it's fine. We got to hear the heartbeat again and now my husband is convinced that we are having a boy because the heart rate is 149. We will find that out for sure August 1st. The doctor answered my list of questions, which I had been ...

Baby Gender Party

A co-worker of mine sent me the coolest idea I have ever heard in my life! Thanks Lisa! Gender Reveal Party I just think this is the cutest idea ever!! I have been talking with my husband about it for a few weeks now and he's just not into it. He wants to know the gender immediately! I'm ok with waiting if it's a surprise like this one! Of course my Mom loves the idea and is ready and willing to help me with whatever I need. I already have invitiations made! I would have it at a restaurant or at home. If my husband won't give in, then my backup plan is to find out the gender of the baby and keep everyone else guessing. It will still be fun to see what everyone's guess is and see the reactions. Any comments? Are these gender parties going overboard?

Our First Appointment 05/16/11

How far along: 9 weeks Size of baby: Size of a grape Maternity Clothes: Not yet, although things are getting tight. Gender: Unknown at this point Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing. What I miss: My energy! Cravings: Not too many so far. Mostly sweets! Symptoms: So far so good. Really just tired a lot and very grouchy! I'm lucky to have only had one or two bad days where I felt terrible overall. No morning sickness! We went for our first Doctor's appointment on May 16, 2011. We live in the Reading, PA area and so we chose Dr. Heidi Streib for the first visit. The office is small but the staff is friendly and Dr. Streib is better than anyone I could have imagined so far. The first visit was pretty easy. We were given a wealth of information on what to expect, how to get to the maternity section of our local hospital, what kinds of medications I can and can't have. Anything you want to know about having a baby...you get at you...
