Hi, I'm Vanessa!

Here are a few facts about me:

I never thought I would love being a Mom as much as I do.  It helps that I have an amazing kid who is ridiculously adorable and makes me laugh every single day.  I can't wait to have another one (two, or three) just like her!
My amazing kid who is ridiculously adorable and makes me laugh every single day.

I am not a morning person.  It doesn't matter what time I go to bed the night before.  I hate mornings.  I am a set four alarms on my cell phone and hit snooze on all four alarms person.

I have an extremely foul mouth.  I can't help it.  It's just part of my vocabulary.  I blame my Dad. But I try really hard not to swear in my blog posts.

I am a super duper Twilight fan.  I mean, I'm not a t-shirt wearing, tote bag wielding, fleece blanket on the couch kind of fan but I do love Twilight.  100 days until the final movie.  (oh and yea, my blog name, which Twilight movie is that from?)

Christmas is my favorite holiday.  I love finding the perfect gifts.  I love decorating.  I love baking.  I love seeing homes decorated with lights.  I love everything about it.  And I get crazy into it.  Like I have an on-going list of all people I buy gifts for and what gifts I want to buy or have bought.  Then I wait until all of the gifts have arrived and then separate them based on who they are for.  Every person gets their own wrapping paper and gift tags.  I'm a little psycho.

I have never lived more than 15 minutes away from my parents.  Is that strange?

My favorite color is pink, favorite candy is Twix and I LOVE pasta.

If you follow me I will most likely follow you back.  If you comment on a post or page, I will always reply.

I started my blog when I found out I was pregnant last year as a way to document my pregnancy and it has turned into so much more for me.  I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.

If you want to know more about me, check out my About Me page.

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
