31 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well.

Little Man is so active.  I don't really know when this kid sleeps because it seems like he is always moving.  He especially likes to kick whenever I am laying down.

According to the doctor's scale, I lost a pound.  It's no wonder since I have been so sick lately.  Last Friday I was up all night sick and the doctor said there was a GI bug going around.  The last two days I have been really nauseous and throwing up but I'm starting to feel better.

Despite the heat and humidity, the swelling has not been bad.  I am surprised by this but I'm not complaining.  I still try to wear long pants all the time in case those elephant ankles surprise me.

Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues. I have been having some lower back cramps but the doctor doesn't seem concerned.

I don't ever sleep through the night anymore because I'm either uncomfortable or have to pee but I don't usually have any issues falling back to sleep when I'm up.

I have been craving carrots for some reason.  But not just any carrots.  Carrots cooked in brown sugar.  This is the way my Mom has always made them and that's all I want to eat!

My baby shower is in two weeks and I can't wait!!  My Mom said that she hasn't received many responses, though, so that's a bummer.  People, if you got an invite, my Mom is old school and put her home telephone number on there.  You have to call!  You can't text!
On a better note, my final end date for work is July 12th.  I am off the 4th and the 5th for the holiday and then I only have one week left!!  We are going to keep Baby Girl in daycare for one extra week just so I can get the house cleaned and get some things caught up.

I am very excited and nervous about staying home.  I know that I will have a great time with my little ones but I fear that I will crave adult interaction too.  I guess we'll just see how it goes!

I have now had numerous people tell me I look like I'm ready to pop and I had one person ask me if I am having twins.  Um...I've only gained 16lbs in 31 weeks.  Do I really look that big?!?!  I actually thought I looked a little smaller this week!

Next Bumpdate in two weeks!

Comments

  1. I feel the same way! I feel like I'm huge and then I've only gained about 8lbs in 16 weeks. And I think it's all in my chest! :o)
SO excited you have an end date for work!! Try to find a mommy and me group. I've tried and failed....I'm just not good at making friends/meeting new people out of my comfort zone.
I hope people respond to those invites, it's annoying when they don't!

My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
