So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday
This week, I'm saying so what if...
  • I haven't blogged since last Wednesday mostly because I was off work from Thursday to Sunday.  This kind of scares me.  I'll save that for another post.
  • I'm done working on Friday!
  • I was thinking about canceling my baby shower because no one responded.  Of course we had last minute respondents so it's on but it's so annoying.
  • I burned my arm over the weekend on the oven.  It hurt like hell.
  • I finally bought Ashlyn a baby doll and stroller set only to realize, once we got home and had it out of the box, that it was actually a double stroller with two baby dolls.  Now I want to return it because I don't want the double baby doll stroller adding to the toy clutter.  And does she really need two dolls?
  • I found knock off thin mints and caramel delights at our grocery store.  And they were on sale.  Why have I never seen these before?!
  • We took Baby Girl to a carnival but didn't take her on any rides.  Instead, she played some games, won some prizes, ate some food and danced her little butt off for a band that was playing.  She had fun.
  • My new favorite drink is blue raspberry lemonade from Auntie Ann's.
  • Little Man is laying so low that it feels like he might actually fall out.  Every time he moves I think I'm going to piss my pants.  Kid needs to relax.
  • I bought Baby Girl new pacifiers, different from the pacifiers she is used to, in hopes that she would get annoyed with them and stop using them.  I've only got 4.5 more months to break the habit!
  • My husband and I are trying to figure out what we are going to call the Little Man when he gets here.  I like Duce (yes I spelled it wrong on purpose) but he's not a fan.  He likes Twee, which is Dutch for two but I'm not a big fan.  And don't even get me started on Junior.
  • I am all of the sudden craving pop tarts and have had them every day this week.

  2. They make knock off girl scout cookies? What store sells these?

Oh, and I saw your picture with your daughter and her water table with her feet in it. I tried that with my kid and he totally tried to stand up on the table. Oops. Little trouble maker!

I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
