So What Wednesday

Life After I Dew

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • My son is one month old today. Already.
  • Today is my 4 week post baby appointment and I know I'm not going to be happy with the scale. Why can't I be one of those girls where the baby weight just melts off?
  • I started putting my little guy's hair in a Mohawk and I'm obsessed.
  • The Coach purse I bought to replace the last Coach purse has to be returned too. The straps are starting to rip off just like the last one. What the hell?
  • The Voice started this week. Yay! I don't have an ultimate favorite yet but there are some good ones. Loving the original coaches.
  • There are way too many good shows starting Thursday. Not only do I watch Grey's and Parenthood, I also want to watch the new Michael J Fox show. Looks funny.
  • I finally sat and watched the movies Bridesmaids from beginning to end and it was terrible. I'd seen bits and pieces of it but never he whole thing. Just terrible.
  • Little guy has pretty much outgrown his newborn clothes but only in length. His 3 month stuff is so baggy on him. So different from his sister.
  • I can't wait to start planning all of our trips to fall festivals this year.
  • I also can't wait to get my fall decorations out. Now just to find the time.
  • I'm a little freaked out that Baby Girl can reach things on the kitchen counters now. How did she get so big?

  2. I have the same problem on Thursdays! Not sure how I'm going to be able to watch it all. Also have the same issue with my little one, she'll be two on 11/2. She's into everything now! I can't hide anything anymore because now she can reach, and what she can't reach she climbs to get! It's making me nuts!!!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
