So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if...
  • I am 38 weeks today and very tired of being pregnant. I'm glad everything is going well this time around but I have to say I was disappointed to have not made any progress this week.
  • My dogs are getting on my last nerve. They never settle down during the day. Every time I move, they move. And the dog hair....so tired of cleaning it up all the time.
  • Our DVR is almost completely full of kids movies for Baby Girl.
  • I wore my hair down and straight for the first time all Summer this week. It felt good.
  • I'm coming down to the end of my pregnancy and my only craving is for tasty cakes. The chocolate ones with the cream inside and the icing on top.
  • I think the Amish Mafia show is ridiculous. Good thing is that we live close to where these supposed events take place and can assure everyone it's not real!
  • I am a little excited for the premier of Duck Dynasty. I think the show is hilarious!

  3. I was 0 cm dilated and 0% effaced at 41 weeks with Taylor and they induced me. I hated it. I went to the doc yesterday 36w2d, and I was at least 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I was so relieved. It doesn't necessarily mean he'll come early, but at least my body is working this time.

What movies does your daughter like? Always looking for suggestions! :)

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
