So What Wednesday

Life After I Dew

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • Little Man graduated to the big bottle this week and occasionally inhales 6 ounces. Pretty sure his sister was eating 6 ounces weeks ago already when she was a baby.
  • It was kind of nice to get out of the house without the kids last night even if it was just to go grocery shopping.
  • Even though it was nice, I did miss them and was pretty excited to go back home.
  • Both of my kids have a cold...that I gave them. A newborn....with a cold? Poor little thing is so stuffy he can barely eat sometimes.
  • I'm sad that we won't be able to eat dinner outside anymore. It was always my favorite part of the day but I'd rather not sit out there with my hat, scarf and thermal gloves.
  • We are taking the kids to a Fall festival this weekend and I can't wait! We had already been to like three festivals this time last year. Little Man has thrown me off my game.
  • Little Man has been sleeping some 4-5 hour stretches the past few nights. I am still not convinced that he is going to be a master sleeper like his big sister but hoping for more 5 hour stretches.
  • My house is only ever clean a day at a time. The second it is clean, the Toddler ransacks everything.
  • I hate how cold our floors are. We have fake hardwoods throughout our house and the floors are always so cold.
  • I am addicted to American Horror Story.
  • Baby Girl had yogurt for breakfast and lunch today.  Since she decided not to take a nap today, I am avoiding a melt down at all costs.  Yogurt helped.
  • Even though I had this post done this morning, it took me until now to post it so I added that last one.

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
