So What Wednesday

Life After I Dew

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • I have been watching Sons of Anarchy.  My husband and I started watching the show when it first started but then we stopped.  For some reason, I started watching it this season and now I'm hooked.
  • My sister in law was friggin awesome last weekend.  She watched the little man for me Saturday morning so I could get some sleep.  It was amazing.
  • My husband is really pushing the mini van.  He wants us to get a Honda Odyssey.  So far the only van I have been interested in is the Pacifica and I'm not sure it's big enough.
  • It seems like the 13 acre property we had been planning to buy is falling through.  Looks like we will be starting renovations on our current home soon.
  • Baby Girl loves being at her Nana's house more than she likes being at our home.  She goes crazy as soon as she walks in the door!
  • It's October and I'm not wearing sweaters yet.  Where is the cooler weather?
  • I started Christmas shopping!  I got Baby Girl and her brother done for Christmas already.
  • I got my Fall decorations out only to realize that I don't really have many.  Might be time to do some shopping.

  2. I have the Nissan Quest, 2011 with the DVD player and we LOVE it. My husband was all about getting a van and I was on the edge about it. But now that I have it, I love it. All the doors shut automatically with one touch and I never have to get my keys out (all hands free). Not badly priced either, we got ours for 26,000 with only 16,000 miles on it. Check them out if you havent ...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
