Five on Friday

ONE

How about this post?  I haven't been able to do any real blogging lately.  The only thing I've kept up with is my So What Wednesday posts.  I've just been so busy these past few weeks.  Hopefully I'll be able to start blogging and reading regularly again soon.

TWO

We are almost 100% moved into our  new house.  I have been working like crazy to get everything unpacked and organized but that's been hard with the two kiddos up my butt every second of every day.  The shitty part about not selling your home is that you don't feel any urgency to really move out of it.  We are renting our old house to a friend and he doesn't move in for another week.

We are hoping to get everything out of the house and have it all cleaned for him this weekend.  Then we will be all moved out.  Now we just have to organize everything.  I can't believe how much crap we had in that little house.  We are filling up the new house very quickly!

THREE

This little giraffe has been a big hit in our house so far.  The only problem with her is that the kids fight over her.  The little guy likes to chew on her but Ashlyn wants to play with her too.  Why?  Because it's a new toy and it's for her brother and she wants it.  Lesson learned.

FOUR

Let me just pat myself on the back for making my own baby food.  I finally started doing it and it rocks!  It was so much easier than I thought it would be.  I started off with apples and sweet potatoes because they seemed easy.  The little guy gobbled up the applesauce so I guess I did ok.

I can't wait to make more.  And all of the stress over a dam blender?  I got an Oster blender from Wal-Mart for $25.00 and the thing is awesome.

FIVE

We got a lot of gift cards for Christmas and they were just sitting here not being used.  I finally sat down and ordered some things.  Some outfits for the little guy from Old Navy and Kohls since he's already wearing 9 and 12 month clothing, a new comforter set from Boscov's, a new camera for the monitor system and some more clothes for the little guy from Target.  And now we wait for it all to arrive.

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and
