Beachbody

If you've been following my sporadic blog posts you know that I've been on a serious weight loss journey this year.  I'm happy to report that I am only 11 pounds away from my goal weight.  This makes me very happy and very excited!

I was doing a lot of cardio, mostly jogging, and some Jillian and free online videos.  I was also watching my calorie intake and trying to eat healthier.  My biggest issue is my belly and that has been slowly going away.

I started doing PiYo and it has been the most amazing thing ever.  I am on my third week and I can't even tell you how awesome I think PiYo is!  The first week alone I lost 6lbs and 4.5 inches overall.  I couldn't believe the results!

So I became a Beachbody coach.  I haven't done much with it yet because I want to make sure that I have proof the products work but I have spoken to quite a few people about PiYo.  I can't promote this program enough.

It's a low impact combination of Pilates and Yoga.  I'm not patient enough to do Yogo but this is a fast-paced version.  You never stop moving.  But there's no jumping or running or anything higher impact so it's perfect for people just starting out or people with injuries.

The best part is that it doesn't cost nearly as much as many of the other programs.  I love that I can do PiYo at home when I want to.  I love that I don't have to pay for a gym membership.  And I love the results that I have gotten so far.

Here is a video preview of PiYo:

Every move is 100% modifiable.  Some of the moves actually hurt my hips so I just modify them a little bit.  I'm hoping to build up the strength and flexibility to not have to modify them eventually.  I feel so much stronger and so much more lean already.

  1. There's this lady that comes into my office every few weeks and she is freaking gorgeous with the perfect body. I really cant stand seeing her because she's not only super hot but she's super smart AND nice. Ugh, really? It's a little much. But all jealousy and envy aside, she credits her body to pilates and yoga! So I wonder if this is her secret!!!!! I cant believe you're 11lbs away from your goal, and six pounds in a week? DAMN! GOOD JOB!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
