Bryan's First (professional) Hair Cut

My kids.....yea they have crazy hair.  They were both born with a full head of hair and never lost a single strand.  Ashlyn's hair is long and curly and crazy.  Bryan's hair would be the same if I hadn't been cutting these past months.  I've cut his hair SIX times in the past 14 months.  SIX!  I finally decided it was time to have his hair cut professionally.

I'm not sure we'll be doing it again.  The hair dresser was great.  It helps that I've been going to her for a very long time.  But he just wasn't feeling it.  He didn't want to sit still.  He didn't like the cape.  He didn't like the scissors.  He just didn't like it.

She did a good job regardless.  She cut his hair and didn't make it all choppy and weird like I always do.  But I'm not sure I'll be taking him back.  I always follow him around to cut his hair.  I cut some in the bath tub when he's distracted.  Then I cut a little more when he's rocking with Daddy for bed.  Then I'll even cut some of what I missed the next morning when he's busy drinking his milk.  I really just have to chase him around to get it done.

And it works.

Even if it is a bit choppy.

  1. I just took Mackenzie to get her hair cut, for the third time, and this time they lady messed it all up. :( It really is a bad hair cut, the bangs aren't even. the back isn't even. She doesn't know so I'll get it fixed after it grows a bit. It didn't help that she didn't sit still. Also, I just cut ethane hair.....he had a little piece longer than the rest of his hair in back. and then it needed a little off over the ears. I say keep doing it yourself if you like it better!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
