So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if...
  • Baby Girl stayed awake until after midnight to ring in the New Year with us.  She was happy and playful and kept us entertained!
  • She then slept until 11am New Year's Day!  It was a nice break from the usual 7am wake up call.
  • I didn't have a single drop of alcohol on New Year's Eve.
  • I spent New Year's Day taking all of my Christmas decorations down.  Now the house seems so bare...but so much less cluttered!
  • In re-organizing our living room, I realized that between her birthday and Christmas, Baby Girl had a toy explosion in our house.  It's time for a toy box.
  • I hate feeding Baby Girl jarred baby food.
  • I'm not quite sure how I feel about my new blog design.
  • Even though the holidays are over, we are busy every weekend in January.  Longwood Gardens trip for their last Christmas weekend, Hershey Bears game and my nephew's birthday party.
  • We took Baby Girl to her first every hockey game last Friday and she was soooo good!  She only got antsy a few times but she really watched the game and she even yelled at the players!  The mascot freaked her out, though.
  • I'm not making any New Year's resolutions.  I never stick to them anyway so why bother?
  • I'm expecting this year to be epic.  This should be the biggest year of our lives, lots of changes coming our way and lots of news to share!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
