Update 08/12/11

I just realized I haven't blogged an update since my last ultrasound!!

How far along: 22 weeks 3 days
Size of baby: Size of a papaya and weighs at least 1 pound by now!
Maternity Clothes: I bought one new shirt at Target, which already has a stain on it! I bought some items from JC Penny online too so I can't wait to see how that fits!
Gender: Baby Girl!
Movement: I'm still not able to definitely say that I'm feeling movement. I should be feeling her by now but I'm not.
What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired.
Cravings: Mostly carbs like potatoes, cheese fries, pasta, cheddar gold fish and still sweets!
Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time but I haven't been having too much trouble with headaches. I am still very moody and my ankles swell up at the drop of a hat. The abdominal pain is gone (Yay!) and now I'm dealing with an aching back.

I am counting down the weeks until I can meet my little baby girl! We are getting so excited! Daddy calls her by name and talks to her every chance he gets. We are still keeping the name to ourselves. I have had a few people ask me but I'm not telling! I actually saw someone else had a really cute idea and I might copy it, if my husband lets me.

Of course I can't find the picture to share when I need it so I found one that is close. It was just like this except it had both parents hands holding the letter blocks. I would love to do this and show it at the baby shower! Or even if we just did this for our own wall, it would be so cute!

As far as symptoms go, I'm still pretty tired all the time, my ankles swell like crazy and my back is killing me! The aching pain in my lower abdomen/pelvic area has pretty much gone away. The heartburn is still pretty bad as well. Still can't eat meat. Still just ham and hamburger for the most part and I'm still trying to stay away from them.

I have been trying to eat more salads since Little Miss eats what I eat now. My husband is hounding me about eating healthier so I am trying to cut back on the sweets and eat more salads.

An update on the house hunt: We are still waiting to find out if we got the house we put the offer in on. It has been two weeks now. We are getting very anxious! We went to an auction last night for another house that would have been PERFECT for us but it went over our budget so that was a no-go. We just want an answer! We are running out of time!

It was definitely not fun having 4 dogs in our house last week. I am so glad my parents are home! Cheyenne is a very good dog but she is very restless so it was difficult. She behaved very well, though. Of course my Mom and Grandmother got me some cute baby things from Tennessee. My Mom got me a shirt that says "I love my Mommy and Daddy but my Grandma and Grandpa are the best!" And my grandmother got us this giant stuffed turtle that is just soooo cute!

I found a few places in the area that will do the 3d/4d ultrasounds but they won't do them until 26 weeks. I didn't want to wait that long but I guess I have to. I don't know if I will even do one now since my next ultrasound will be around 28 weeks so I might just wait for that one.

Next update in a week and I'm sure I'll post a few random blogs until then!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
