So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if...
  • Baby Girl's birthday party was awesome!  She had so much fun and was smiling and laughing the whole time, even with the double ear infection and even when she started getting tired.  It's not really a so what because it's awesome but I'm including it anyway!

  • Someone threw my phone in the trash when cleaning up after the party and my husband had to jump in the dumpster and sift through our trash bags to find it.  Oops!
  • My house is still a complete wreck.  Baby Girl got a ton of gifts and I'm still trying to sort through it all.
  • Baby Girl had her 12 month check up and they sent us to have blood drawn.  It took three nurses to find a vein but only one try to get what they needed.  I hope we don't ever have to do that again.
  • The doctor also said she still has fluid in her ears.  We might be making another trip to the doctor next week for more meds.
  • I still haven't written Baby Girl's 12 month post.  I know it's going to be a long, emotional post so stay tuned.
  • Baby Girl woke up at 3am.  Remember how I said I would never co-sleep?  I'll punch myself in the face now.  It was the only way to calm her down.
  • I let Baby Girl have a doll even though I think they are creepy.  My Grandmother bought it for her and she really loves it.  I'll get over it.
  • I can't wait to get our Christmas pictures back.  They are going to be so awesome!  Preview...

  • I can't wait to go see my friend's new baby tomorrow! She has the most beautiful children ever and this is just one more adorable little face to add to the brew! I love it!
  • Installing the new washer and dryer we bought turned out to be a much bigger project than we anticipated. My husband worked on it for two days and finally got them installed. (Thanks Babe!) He has used them more than me so far!
  • Christmas is only 2 weeks away and I'm still not done shopping.  This has been the most unorganized year for me.  I'll blame the birthday party.
  • I am so ridiculously happy that Trevin went home on The Voice.  I'm even more happy that Terry is in the final three.  Now let's see him win!

  1. Do you mean baby dolls? They can be creepy I think too. Emma has a rag doll right now of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It's her bff, so cute. I love the Christmas photo!!! OMG looks like the rest will be even more amazing. I co-sleep and it is definitely tough. I really need her to sleep in her crib so I can try to sleep.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
