So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday
This week, I'm saying so what if...

  • We had to be at the hospital for Baby Girl's surgery at 5:45am but her surgery wasn't until 7:30.  That sucked....big time.
  • That surgery really was the longest ten minutes of my life.
  • I didn't post any of my normal Friday posts last week because I was home all day with Baby Girl.  Back to normal this week.
  • We have finally taken Baby Girl's night time bottle away.  She has done well so far.  I won't call her officially done with it until we get a solid week or two without it.
  • I shared my list of baby names and have gotten great feedback!
  • I'm mad that we aren't going to get any snow.  I really wanted one big storm before the warmer weather arrived.
  • I still haven't been able to post about all of the awards I've received lately.  Ladies who nominated me, I promise I will give you each a post about the lovely awards you nominated me for!
  • I am working on another new blog design.  I have to add Baby #2 to my header and the current head just won't allow me to do that nicely.  So, new blog design coming soon!
  • I haven't gotten my energy back even though I'm in my second trimester.  It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get, I'm always exhausted!
  • I'm getting sick again.  Just when I was starting to feel healthy, I have a runny nose and itchy throat.  Baby Girl has a bad cough again too.  Will we ever be healthy?!

But it's especially not fun when you're pregnant! I hope you're feeling better soon!

    17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

    HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

    29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
