So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • I had this post done yesterday and forgot to post it.  Oops.
  • I haven't made a blog post in...um...a while.
  • I still haven't posted Little Man's birth story. I have it started I just have to get it finished.
  • My house looks like hurricane came through it. There is shit everywhere.
  • I have a newborn and still have baby fever. I know....I'm bat shit crazy.
  • I'm tired of people saying that (and acting like) the second kid isn't as important as the first. This is my first son. He is just as important as his sister....and just as cute!
  • Those end of pregnancy headaches I had didn't go away. Maybe I need new glasses.
  • I'm a little surprised by how well Baby Girl has adapted to this new little human in our house. She is not nearly as pissy as I expected her to be.
  • I'm also surprised by the lack of support we got with our little guy as compared to his big sister.  Just goes back to that second kid isn't as important issue I have.
  • I was expecting a bigger baby so I didn't buy a lot of newborn clothing. All of his clothes are way too big.
  • We finally got a new scale.  It was nice to know that I'm only 8 pounds away from my starting pregnancy weight.
  • My 39 Week Bumpdate was my 500th blog post.
  • I actually wrote on the calendar when our Fall shows begin.  Grey's, The Voice, Parenthood.  I can't wait!
  • My husband and I are now contemplating throwing out all of the plans we have and moving out of the area.  Decisions, decisions.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
