Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, listen here....the whole sticking your hands in your diaper after you pooped thing you did the other day....not cool.  I will not be dealing with poop hands from you so you can stop that crap (literally) right now.  It's gross.  Don't be gross.

Dear Little Man, I hope your new tooth pops soon, buddy.  You're not really that grouchy but I can tell that it bothers and hurts you.  Keep on screaming on big guy.

Dear Spring, where the hell did you go?  You were here and then you left.  I know you left because there was a fresh layer of snow on the ground outside of my house.  Not cool, Spring.  Not cool.

Dear park up the street from my house, I foresee many play dates with you in our future.

Dear Jillian, you and I are going to become good friends over the next 30 days.  Well, maybe not.  Maybe I will hate you and curse you and never want to speak to you again but that's ok as long as you get my ass into shape.  Let the love/hate relationship begin!!

Dear Kristen, congratulations on the birth of your beautiful twin babies!!!!  I stalk your IG feed for new pictures of those sweet babes.  It's such an exciting/scary/crazy time in your life right now and I'm so happy for you!  Wynn and Grey (and Smith) are so lucky to have you as their Mommy!

Dear readers, Have a good weekend!

  2. I agree Spring needs to get here AND stay here! My son never put his hand in his diaper and I'm praying my daughter never does. I've had a few friends tell me horror stories of cribs covered in poo. EEEK! I would freak out lol. Good luck with your 30 days with Jillian! I just started T25 on Monday and I'm dying. When I want to quit I just think about all of the times I've started exercising before and quit. It's only harder to get back into it. I wish I didn't love love love food so much!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
