Life's a Beach

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the beach.  Friends of ours have a condo in Ocean City, MD and they invited us to spend the weekend.  We spent some time on the beach and some time in the pool.  We spent some time on the MD boardwalk and went to the Rehoboth boardwalk.  We ate some really good food (and some really bad food).  We stayed up late and slept in.

It was Ashlyn's second time at the beach and Bryan's first time.  Ashlyn loved the sand but not the water.  Bryan loved the water but not the sand.  The both had a lot of fun on the beach and in the pool and as a family, we all had a great time!

He wasn't phased by the water at all.  He just took it all in.

She spent all of her time building sand castles with Daddy.

This was just after she took a tumble in the water.  A wave knocked her right on her but and then onto her back.  She was not a happy girl.

It took Ashlyn a little while to get used to the pool water but the little guy took to it right away!

We ate at a kid friendly restaurant one night and had a great time!

The one night we went to the boardwalk our kids were totally spoiled.  Everyone with us was winning them gifts non stop!

I got this picture right before we left.  They had such a fun time.  Nothing but smiles the whole weekend.  We will definitely be heading back to the beach this summer!

  1. These pictures are adorable! And sunny skies? Best beach day. I love how your son and daughter were opposites in the sand v. sea preferences lol! I love the beach so much, if I don't go this weekend I'm going to throw a dylan-like fit. >:O

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
