So What Wednesday

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if...
  • I'm just now getting around to posting the pictures from our trip to Cape May for Labor Day weekend.  Momma's busy.  But stay tuned...
  • I always take pictures of Baby Girl in her car seat because she is strapped in and can't go anywhere.  Live motion shots from a cell phone camera just aren't frame-able.

  • The Fall festival we attended this past weekend was more like a flea market.  There were no pumpkins and there was definitely no pumpkin funnel cake.  There were ridiculously adorable Christmas decorations, though.
  • We are attending another festival this weekend.  It was re-scheduled due to weather a few weeks ago.  I'll be the one power walking to work off the pumpkin funnel cake. (Yes I'm obsessed with the dam pumpkin funnel cake.  It better not suck!)
  • Baby Girl slept through most of her first pumpkin patch experience.  We were in the car a lot that day and we weren't going to wake her.  We did get some awesome pumpkins though!
  • I fought with the new car seat for two days before I actually read the instruction manual and realized it was, in fact, a faulty installer, not a faulty car seat.
  • I have 41 books on Baby Girl's Amazon wish list.  I want this girl to read!
  • I have a wedding to go to this weekend and I plan to wear the same old black dress I always wear.  I just don't have time to go searching for a new dress.
  • I only know what my husband has told me about the Presidential election this year.  I'm not even registered to vote.
  • We spent an hour and a half at the Apple store last night just so they could tell my husband that his phone is fried and give him a new one.  We did get a cute picture of Baby Girl on her first trip to the Apple store.

  • We stopped at TGI Fridays after Apple for some appetizers and drinks and the hostess was rude enough to almost get a smack down from Momma Grizz.  PMS much?  (me and her)
  • I am continuing the countdown for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. Only 30 days to go!!  I am RIDICULOUSLY excited (and sad because I know the saga is ending).

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
