Day 1: The Story of My Life

I think I'm going to jump on this 'blog every day in May' train.  I can't guarantee that I will blog every single day, especially since I don't blog on weekends, but I will try.  Check out Story of My Life for more information about this challenge.

Day 1:  The story of my life in 250 words or less

June 1st is mah birfday and that’s only a month away!  The big 3-0!  I have been in PA all my life and have never lived more than 15 minutes from my parents.  I graduated from Penn State University after 7 ½ years of schooling with a BS in Business.   I have been a babysitter, lifeguard, retail manager, banker, admin and marketing analyst.  I met my husband when I was 12 and we were married 15 years later!  My husband owns his own landscaping business and works for a pond and patio installer.  I will be a SAHM come June and I can’t wait!  We have two pugs, a black lab and a cat named Joey.  We have one beautiful daughter who is the most amazing little person in this world.  Her brother will be making his debut in August or September.

I’m blunt and crude at times but I’m also sentimental and thoughtful.  I love to sleep and don’t do well without it.  I’m a big hockey fan and will probably not be able to be your friend if you are a Penguins fan.  I like to cook and bake but I don’t like to clean up the mess afterwards.  I’ve never had a broken bone, serious illness or surgery and I’ve only ever stayed in the hospital when my daughter was born.  I like to travel but I hate planes and long car rides.  I am one giant contradiction.  Knowing me is quite fun!

  1. That is so cool that you met your hubby when you were 12! I met mine when I was 15. Totally didn't think I would end up marrying him, I tell you. This was so fun!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
