Update 10/04/11

How far along: 30 weeks, 70 days to go!
Size of baby: The size of a squash
Maternity Clothes: Just ordered a bunch of Fall stuff...can't wait to get it!
Gender: Baby Girl!
Movement: Lots and lots!
What I miss: My energy! My more stable moods!
Cravings: I'm not really craving much of anything.
Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time, no headaches, ankles swell occasionally, heartburn and backaches are the worst!

I realized today that I'm actually due on a Tuesday so I will be doing my updates on Tuesdays from now on!

I haven't had too much going on in the past week so there isn't much to update. I've been feeling pretty good which is a nice change from how I was a few weeks ago. Little Miss is kicking pretty much all of the time now! I'm realizing more and more every day that this due date is getting closer and closer and I think my nesting is going to kick in soon!

I'm getting nervous because our house isn't even close to being finished and the nursery hasn't been started yet! My husband is finally finishing up our living room, which is going to become our new bedroom until our actual bedroom and the nursery are done.

We just have so much going on with his business and my job and our 3 precious dogs and the upcoming wedding I'm in and my husband's birthday and the list goes on and on! It's also hard to get any work done to our house when my poor husband is left to do all of the work himself! Volunteers are always appreciated.

My dress fitting this past weekend went well. My tailor lady is going to take out the band on the dress so that it fits over my baby belly! She also gave me a $10 discount for the baby! Little Miss is already giving me perks! And I have to say, the bride looked gorgeous in her dress. We only have a few more days until the wedding and I can't wait! It's going to be a long, tiring day but it will be well worth it.

We also had the bride's bachelorette party and it was a blast! She had a ton of fun. She is such a wonderful person and she deserves the best from all of us. Another note, the bride is the first person, besides my husband, who has gotten to feel Little Miss move!

I think I've got my husband's 30th birthday party in the bag. Venue is booked and invitations went out. I'm excited to be throwing this party for him. He doesn't really want me to spend the money for it but to me, it's not just for his birthday. It's also a thank you for all of the hard work he is doing and for putting up with me the last 7 months! He needs to know that he is appreciated!

I go back on October 17th for my next ultrasound and after that, I have to go every two weeks! I didn't realize how close it was until she she said every two weeks!

Next update will be next week at 31 weeks.

I also want to make a quick shout out to "An Ordinary Mom". Check out her blog here. She is going through a very difficult time right now with her oldest son who had a brain tumor removed recently. Please send your love to her and her family.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
