Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, these antibiotics have really be kicking your butt (literally) and I am so sorry. You have never had diaper rash this badly before and you make Mama's heart aches every time you cry when I change you. I am so glad you're better now!

Dear Baby #2, I can't wait to hear your heart beat and possibly see you on Monday.

Dear Husband, looks like your sleeping on the couch didn't help this time around. This flu or bug or whatever you want to call it is just awful!

Dear baby doctor, would you please do an ultrasound on Monday? I know I will only be 11 weeks and1 day but how much longer are you going to make me wait? I want to see my next little monster!

Dear Smash, I am so glad to have you back!!!

Dear snow, I am extremely angry with you.  You threaten a ton of snow so we cut our vacation short and now you aren't coming. Not cool.

Dear Beyonce, really? Was all the hair and ass shaking really necessary during the half time show? You have a beautiful voice. Why didn't you use it??

Dear Alicia, your rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was amazing. Maybe you should have done the half time show instead.

Dear 49ers, while I'm really sad that you lost the Superbowl, I guess I have to give you props. You had a very young QB who had only started 10 games and you almost made a comeback. I do think you were robbed of a few calls, one especially that could have helped you win the game, but I think you put up a good fight. Maybe next year.

Dear readers, don't forget to vote!! Will Baby #2 be a boy or a girl? Have a great weekend!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
