Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, I know that restaurants aren't your favorite place to be lately.  You want to run and play and not sit in a high chair for an hour.  But did you really have to act like a spastic last night at our Valentine's Day dinner?  You're lucky you have such loving parents who got their food to go and let you nap at home while we ate.  Happy Valentine's Day to us.

Dear Baby #2, I'm sorry Daddy didn't record your heart beat on Monday.  He wasn't quick enough.  But I can't wait to see you in a week.  Your sister will be there and she can't wait to see you too!

Dear Husband, we made the best of what we had to work with last night.  Nuff said.

Dear Presidential speech, really?  You had to make this speech during my regularly schedule Smash time?  So.Not.Cool.

Dear Grammy's, you were kind of boring and the best performance was from an artist I don't even know!  Jack White rocked it!  Oh and the Lumineers were great too.

Dear friend of my husband, we are not having twins.  Will you please stop freaking him out!

Dear work, why can't you give us off normal Federal holidays?  Instead, I have to scramble to find someone to watch Baby Girl because the daycare is closed.

Dear ENT doctor, I know that it was our first time at your office but making us wait an hour just to have a 15 minute conversation with the doctor really sucked.  I have a feeling the actual procedure to get the tubes put into Baby Girl's ears will take less time than that appointment.

Dear blog, I know that I need some more original content on here and I'm going to work on it.  I have just been so busy with working and taking care of a toddler and being pregnant.  It's rough!  I promise I will try to write more good stuff.

Dear drama, I am so over you.  I am tired of your stupid games and I won't play into them anymore.  I'm tired of hurtful people and feeling hopeless.  I'm tired of always wondering what I did wrong.  I am going to learn to love the people who accept me for me and leave the rest out!

Dear readers, don't forget to vote!! Will Baby #2 be a boy or a girl? Have a great weekend!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
