Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, it's like you've been walking for years.  You're a little pro.  I love the way you shuffle around the house now, walking from room to room to find something to get into!

Dear Baby #2, do you think that you could crave some more healthy foods? First time around it was all sweets.  How about some salads this time?  Kudos to you for not making me gain any weight so far.  No kudos for not ever letting me finish a meal without wanting to vomit.

Dear snow, I know we aren't supposed to get too much of you but it would be really cool if you could just dump a little bit our way.  I may be the only one in this city who actually likes you!

Dear weekend, we have NOTHING planned for you and I am OOBER excited.

Dear Husband, I really think it's time to take the Christmas lights down.  We can replace them with red lights for Valentine's Day!

Dear Burning Love, while you are pretty dumb, I also think you're pretty dam funny and am looking forward to this season of oddball love antics.

Dear new iPod, I promise I will finally get you all set up this weekend.  I can't wait to use you!

Dear old iPod, while you were very good to me, it's time to upgrade.  You will now belong to Baby Girl so I apologize in advance because I know she will throw you and drop you and drool on you.  But she will love you because she loves music.

Dear readers, have a great weekend!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
