Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, so let's talk about how you know the ABC song.  You're not quite there with all of the letters but you know the whole tune and substitute your own little slurs for letters you're not quite sure of.  Brilliant kid.  Just brilliant.  This is why we signed you up for a music class!

Dear Baby #2, I am so loving your little baby kicks.  It look a long time for me to feel them with Baby Girl so it's exciting that I get to feel them so soon with you.  They make me smile every time.  Can you do me a favor though?  Start kicking during the day when I'm sitting at my desk instead of at night when I'm trying to sleep!  Thanks!

Dear warmer weather, while I love snow, I am really looking forward to you.  I can't wait to be able to take Baby Girl for walks at the museum and let her play outside.  She loves to be outside so I know it's going to be a great summer for her.  Probably not so great for my ankles!

Dear chocolate milk, as much as I really love you right now, I have to stop drinking you.  Even though you are 1%, I still can't see how you are healthy.  We must at least cut back...a little a lot.

Dear Mom, as much as I appreciate all that you do, can you please stop buying Baby Girl so many boxes of snacks?!  You always buy the huge boxes of goldfish and animal crackers and I just don't have room for them all.  They sit on the kitchen floor and Baby Girl helps herself to them.  I don't need anything for at least a month!

Dear Grey's, I missed you last night because the husband worked way late and I felt guilty watching it without him.  I'll catch up tonight, don't you worry.

Dear readers, don't forget to vote!! Will Baby #2 be a boy or a girl? Between the pole on the blog and my Facebook friends, we are leaning a little more towards boy right now!  You can vote until Monday!

  1. The whole ABC song? That's insanely impressive. I was happy that Taylor sang "row row row your boap" the other day.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
