Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, we think you might have allergies.  You poor thing.  You always seem to have a runny nose and cough and your eyes are always a little red and puffy.  We can't figure out what else it might be.  Not sure what they do for toddler allergies but I guess we'll have to look into it.

Dear Baby #2, well you certainly surprised Momma.  I thought for sure you were another little girl and it turns out you are not!  Baby Boy Miller!  We will confirm your gender with a 3D scan in a few weeks.  We are so excited to meet you!

Dear husband, yes I know you want a Jr.  I'm just not feeling it.  I guess you've got about 4.5 months to convince me.  PS: stop working so much!

Dear ankles, you have been good to me so far.  Let's not start the swelling just yet.  I'd like to enjoy the warm weather with some capri pants before you begin to make me cover you.  Here's hoping we don't have any swelling this time around.

Dear rain, go away.  Seriously.  Do you know how hard it is to get a toddler in and out of a car seat in the rain?  It's really hard.  And we both got soaked.  Go away.

Dear Maya, Ashlyn can't wait to see you on Saturday.  You are both going to be so adorable singing your little songs and playing your little instruments.  I'm really hoping for some child prodigies here.

Dear Monika, ugh...our Mommy date is SO needed.  Can't' wait!

Dear readers, all of you who voted boy....Yay!  Have a good weekend!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
