A Letter to My Readers

Day 27:  A letter to your readers.

This was supposed to post yesterday but I was having too much fun with my little schmuffin to bother with the computer.  I really wanted to make sure I posted it, though, because I think it's important.

Dear Readers,

You have no idea how much you mean to me.  I sincerely mean that.  I started this blog almost two years ago as a way to document my pregnancy.  I had no idea it would turn into my outlet.  I had no idea how many people I would come to know.

I had two followers for the longest time.  Then somehow I moved up to ten.  Then I started linking up and putting myself out there more and I now have 79 of you wonderful followers.  It may not be much as compared to some of the bigger blogs but I thank every single one of you for following me.

I appreciate the fact that you want to read what it is I have to write.  I appreciate all of your comments and I reply to each and every single one of you via email.  I appreciate the blog friendships that have developed over time.  I truly enjoy talking to you all.

You really have no idea how much I love your comments and how much I love responding to them.  I love that many of us have so much in common and I hate that we all live so far away from each other because I really feel that I could be friends with so many of you!

I love reading your blogs as well.  Some of you are serious, some of you are funny, some of you are great advice givers, some of you are great recipe sharers, some of you are awesome do-it-yourselfers.  All of you are amazing!

I'll be celebrating my 2 year blogiversary soon and I just can't express how awesome it has been.  I hope to keep my little space here in the blog world for a long time and develop even greater relationships with you all.

With Love,
Vanessa

  1. Awww - I totally agree. I started my blog for me, but it is the readers that encourage me to keep going and continue this journey that I will hopefully have forever.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
