Friday's Letters

Dear Baby Girl, oh my little schmuffin.  You have been such an awesome little girl lately.  I don't know if the warmer weather and being outside has been keeping you all cheery or what but you have been so much fun!  You will have ton of fun tomorrow too because you will have a lot of little friends to play with at Mommy's birthday party!

Dear Baby #2, you know, I really like to feel you kick but this sudden need to kick me in the bladder causing me to feel like I'm going to pee in my pants is just not cool.  Yea so if you could just go ahead and stop that, that would be great. (bonus points if you guess the movie reference here)

Dear Husband, I know that you are trying really hard to make sure that my birthday is special and I really appreciate that.  I will do my best to let you do your thing and not complain about anything that I may have done differently!  Happy Birthday to me!! (tomorrow)

Dear Birthday, could you please not suck?

Dear central air unit, I know that you're old but do you really have to suck so badly?  81 is not an acceptable temperature in our house.  Get your shit together and start working properly please.

Dear work, no offense, but I'm excited that we've narrowed it down to two candidates to take over my spot.  We might have a decision made by next week which means I might be done by the end of June which would just be awesome.

Dear friends and family, I'm really surprised by how many of you decided not to RSVP to my birthday party.  I expected much better.  I guess we'll see by the final guest list who really loves me and who doesn't.

Dear readers, have a good weekend!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
