Day 7: The thing(s) you are most afraid of
I'm not really sure what you would call me. A pessimist? Obsessive Compulsive? Psychotic? Not sure but I always fear the worst. I mean I literally take every single situation and figure out what could possibly go wrong. This has gotten 100 times worse since my daughter came along.
Example: We spent the weekend at my brother-in-law's house. They live in a cute rancher so all of the rooms are on one floor with the bedrooms being at one end of the house. I woke up in the middle of the night in a panic because what if someone came flying down their road and slammed into the house while we were sleeping?
Example: We were having a conversation with my parents about para sailing the other night. They were telling us about how much fun it is and we should try it. I just kept saying, what happens if you fall? What happens if a rope snaps or you fall out of the seat? What happens if a bird flies through the sail and rips it and you go plunging into the water?
Example: I hear a noise downstairs in the middle of the night. It is most likely our cat and I know this but I still can't help but wonder if it's someone breaking in and what we would do to protect ourselves. We are avid gun owners so I know we are covered but still.
What if our house falls into a sinkhole?
What if my car explodes when I start it?
What if someone kidnaps my kid while we are at the park?
These are like completely irrational thoughts but I think about this stuff all the time. I am so scared that something bad is going to happen. Do they make medicine for this kind of thing because I think I need some!

I do that too :o constant "what if's" and everyone tells me to just chill but I can't :/ I think it's okay and quite normal.

My new fear is someone breaking in and stealing Mackenzie. It's awful but I think about it almost every night. It doesn't help that her room includes a door to the porch. :-/ (I think that's what started the fear) Thankfully Erin is helping my fear and it going to put chains (hotel locks) on the door.
