27 Week Bumpdate

Well I'm officially in my 7th month and third trimester and my doctor's appointments will be bi-weekly.  I can't believe that we will meet our little man in three months!!

The heart rate today was 140 and all is well.

The little man is kicking a whole lot more than his sister ever did.  That or I'm just smaller so I'm feeling it more.  I mean, the kid never stops.  It's nice to feel his kicks but it's also extremely uncomfortable at times.

I'm now up 13 pounds.  I feel like I am huge now but the doctor says 13 pounds at almost 28 weeks is really good.  That made me feel better because I was worried.

My symptoms are pretty much the same.  I haven't had any Braxton Hicks since last month so that's good.  Really the only thing that has gotten worse is my sleeping.  I wake up a few times throughout the night just to toss and turn or to pee.

My ankles swell pretty much every day now but I still have less swelling than I did the first time.  I was outside all evening this past Saturday for my birthday and it was hot and humid!  I found that the more I walked around the more my ankles stayed calm.  But sitting at work all day makes them swell.  Oh well.

We did find out that little man is definitely a little man.  He wasn't very cooperative at our 3D ultrasound so we didn't get very many pictures of him.  I go back for a free re-scan on Father's Day!

My baby shower is scheduled for July 21st.  My Mom decided that she is just going to have it at a local restaurant.  It's just easier that way.  I can't wait!

Next Bumpdate in two weeks!

I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and
