2013 Year In Review

January - this was when we announced that Baby #2 was on the way!  We were so excited to share the news and couldn't wait any longer.

February - nothing major happened this month but we did get to see our little man for the first time.  Of course we didn't know he was a little man yet but we were so happy to see him!  We also tried to have a nice Valentine's Day dinner out with our daughter but that didn't work out too well.

March - we had tubes put in Baby Girl's ears this month in hopes that the ear infections would stop.  The tubes have done their job and she hasn't had an ear infection since!  Baby Girl also turned 15 months old this month and had another perfect check up!

April - we found out that little man was in fact a little man this month!  This was also the month we decided it was time for me to be a SAHM.  We also decided on our little guy's name and Ashlyn got her first hair cut!

May - aside from celebrating Mother's Day, this was a pretty boring month.  Nothing major went on but I did participate in a blog every day challenge.  Of course I don't like to blog on the weekends so I skipped some but it was still nice.

June - this was a big month.  I turned 30, we celebrated Father's Day, Baby Girl turned 18 months old and we confirmed that Little Man was in fact a little man with our 3D ultrasounds!  It was also the month that I had my little fall and had to spend four hours in the OB Triage center to make sure our little guy was ok.

July - this is the month that I finally became a SAHM.  I finally left my job.  Glorious!

August - this was a pretty slow month until the end when our Little Man was born!

September - my first month with two kids.  Bryan's birth story was posted, we celebrated our 3rd anniversary and I blogged a lot about my struggles with breast feeding (Issues, The End, Update).

October - this was another slow month for me.  I didn't post much but I did make updates on the little guy.  This was the month I finally decided to allow nature to take over and decide my breast feeding fate.  I went pink for breast cancer awareness and so did Ashlyn!

November - My little guy turned 3 months old...gah!  We were pretty slow this month aside from celebrating my husband's birthday and Thanksgiving.

December - Baby Girl turned 2, Little Man turned 4 months old, we had our family photos taken, sent our awesome Christmas cards and celebrated an amazing Christmas!  On a sad note, my Grandmother died this month.

That's it for me for 2013.  I still have quite a few posts to catch up on like Baby Girl's 2nd birthday, Little Man's 4 month check up and a Christmas re-cap but 2013 is OVER!

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
