So What Wednesday

Life After I Dew

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • Operation Lose Weight 2014 has commenced and I already have a cheat day scheduled.  It's today and it's because we are having dinner with friends tonight.
  • I posted a 2013 year in review but did not post the recent updates for my kids.  I'm working on them, just need to add some pictures.
  • The weather here is so crappy lately.  Warm, cold, warm, cold.  All of the snow we got is gone but then we are supposed to be covered in ice.  Make up your mind!
  • Most of Little Man's Christmas toys are in a closet or stored under his crib.  We don't really have the room for them and he isn't big enough for them yet anyway.
  • I was able to organize the house enough to get all of Ashlyn's Christmas toys in order.  Sure it looks like a Toys R Us warehouse but it's working for now.
  • I haven't unpacked the new pots and pans that I got for Christmas yet.  They are still in the box in our living room.  Maybe I will keep them there until we move.
  • Moving is looking more and more possible by the day.  We got some good news today in regards to a new house and we hope to get more good news soon.
  • Little Man is teething like a boss, cutting his second tooth.  Two at a time, just like his big sister, except she wasn't quite as miserable as he is.
  • My husband forgot to get my Hallmark snowman this year.  Good news is that we got it Sunday and it was 75% off.  We paid $4.23 with tax.  We'll be doing this every year now.
  • Baby Girl puts a fake cup of water in her fake kitchen microwave, tells me it's cooking and then says, 'please drink it.'  Think she's seen me put a bottle in the microwave a time or two?
  • I think it might be time for a new blog banner.  I'm not in love with the one I have now.
  • I've also been considering a name change but I'm so attached to my blog name.  I'm kind of liking We Are The Millers but I just don't know if I can part with Here Come the Human.

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
