So What Wednesday, The Hashtag Edition

Life After I Dew

This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • It took Baby Girl 45 minutes to fall asleep last night.  She did it paci free for the first time.  Here's hoping the habit is just that easy to break.  #dampacineedstogo
  • I can't keep Baby Girl from chasing the pugs around the house and ramming them with things like her baby stroller.  #poordogs
  • Our social calendar is explosive for the next few weeks.  Dinner here, lunch there.  Birthday party here, play date there.  It's total chaos.  #toomuchshitgoingon
  • I keep double booking us because of said social calendar.  Mama's having a hard time keeping track of everything!  #mommysbrainisfried
  • My nephew turns 12 tomorrow.  12.  I still remember the first time I held that little peanut and now he's 12.  #toobigtoofast
  • I think my nephew's birthday warrants a look at his birth story.  It's pretty dramatic so watch for it tomorrow.  #onepoundtwelveounces
  • I haven't been able to shut my brain off at night and go to sleep.  Maybe I just like the alone time I get while everyone else is in bed.  #insomina
  • I still haven't gotten a hair cut.  I've only been saying I need on for like the past two months.  Maybe...someday.  #ratsnest
  • My baby boy is a chunk and it doesn't bother me nearly as much as it did with Baby Girl.  I was always worried I was feeding her too much and that she weighed too much but he is a lot bigger than she was and I love it!  #chunkamunk
  • My little guy is going to have four teeth before he hits five months old.  That's just not normal!  #teethingmonsterchild
  • There are less carbs in one serving of cheese puffs than there are in one serving of skinny kettle corn.  #cheesepuffsforlife

  1. I decided to take Emiys pacifier away a week ago. She's only 3 months old so I felt REALLY bad about it. She was waking up every hour most nights when it fell out. No one was sleeping. I'm so glad I got rid of it. Now when she wakes up she goes back to sleep. We had a LOT of crying when we first took it away though. Noah was 2 when we took his away. Now that was a bigger battle! Lol

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
