#13. In The Bag

"A diaper bag is a must-have for outings with your newborn. Choose a roomy style with compartments that will help you find necessities quickly. Also look for one that includes a foldout changing pad since you can't control your surroundings when Baby needs a diaper change. Select a style that suits you -- not your nursery decor--and if you ever want Daddy to carry it for you, you might want to consider his style, too."

It may sound odd but I'm really looking forward to the baby bag. There are so many different styles out there and so many different things you can get! I have decided that we probably need two baby bags, one for me and one for my husband. I am so specific about what I want and I know that I was something that is going to be gender specific but he might wants something a little more generic. Here's what I have in mind:

Carina Tote Diaper Bag - I love this bag! It matches the Carina style stroller, car seat and playard set that I have picked out. It's a big bag and it has a lot of pockets!

Ashford 2 Piece Diaper Bag Set - I love this one for a little boy because, again, it matches the Ashford play sets that I have picked out. You also get two bags for the price of one!

Camouflage Bag - I found this bag for my husband because he is a hunter and he's not going to want to carry around a 'girly' diaper bag. I figured he'd love the camouflage for a boy or a girl.

Jeep Trend Diaper Bag - I also found this one for my husband, figuring he would like that it is made by Jeep so it's a bit more rugged but it's universal as well. I'm hoping he will opt for one like this rather than the camouflage bag!

Coach Diaper Bag - Now, if I really got the bag that I wanted, it would be this adorable Coach diaper bag. Ever since my best friend got me a Coach purse, I have been obsessed! Isn't this adorable? I would use it regardless of the gender of the baby. They say they are pretty sturdy bags but I don't know if I'm willing to spend $300 on a diaper bag!

I am beginning to love all things baby and I can't wait to find out what this little monster is so I can start buying things and adding things to the baby registry!

My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,...

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...
