Menu Monday

I think that's what I'll call this from now on:  Menu Monday

Of course that would require me to post this on Monday now wouldn't it!  Well, Sunday was Mother's Day so I didn't do any cooking or planning so this week has been a bit of a bust but we'll see what we can do.

Last week's menu:

Monday: 20 Minute Skillet Lasagna - this was awesome!  It was so good and so easy to make.  I will be making this again for sure.
Tuesday: Garlic Parmesan Crusted Chicken Legs and Mashed Potatoes - The garlic Parmesan crust was pretty dam good if I do say so myself.  I will use this recipe on pork next time.
Wednesday: Chicken Wraps - These were pretty good.  Pretty simple.  My husband likes them because I make his with lettuce, tomato and onion and he doesn't get that very often.
Thursday: Meatball Sandwiches - Meatballs are one of my favorite foods.  And they are so ridiculously easy to make.
Friday: Leftovers - We actually stopped at Taco Bell on the way to a friend's house instead of eating leftovers.  Oh well.  All of the food this week was so good that we didn't have many leftovers anyway.
Saturday: Crock pot Italian Chicken - This was awesome!  I'm so glad I made it!  It seems like something I can make in a skillet just as easily so I may try that next time.

The week's menu:

Sunday:  Mother's Day - No cooking!
Monday:  No plans = McDonald's :(
Tuesday:  Whatever we had left in the house = baked steak and chicken and roasted potatoes
Wednesday:  Spaghetti
Thursday:  Not sure what's happening here!
Friday:  Pork?
Saturday:  Mini Lasagna Cups - Maybe....we have a busy day so if not today then definitely Sunday!

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass...

HFMD

Hand, foot, and mouth disease is a common viral illness that usually affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, it can sometimes occur in adults. Symptoms of hand, foot, and mouth disease include fever, blister-like sores in the mouth (herpangina), and a skin rash. ( http://www.cdc.gov/hand-foot-mouth/about/index.html) Are you kidding me? Blister-like sores in the mouth? Why do things like this even exist? What purpose does an illness like this that just torments little babies (and their parents) serve?  This stupid illness is currently 'running it's course' through my poor son. One week before his first birthday. Apparently it's 'going around' as the doctor so nicely explained.  Fortunately we only had one really bad day where he was not eating or drinking much and was just miserable. He was back to his usually happy self in no time even with blisters in his mouth. So this week, while my husband is away for work in Chicago and ...

29 Week Bumpdate

The heart rate today was 160 and all is well. Little Man is still kicking away all the time!  He sleeps until late morning and then he's all over the place for the rest of the day.  It's fun but it's also uncomfortable sometimes. When I weighed myself on Sunday, which is when I usually do it to update my pregnancy app, I was only up 15lbs.  As of today, though, I am up 17lbs.  I feel like I am growing at warp speed but the doctor assures me that I am measuring just fine.  I do feel like some of the shirts I wore two weeks ago shouldn't be worn anymore though!  The bump is growing! I have noticed that I have been waking up with swollen ankles every morning despite sleeping with them elevated.  I know this has a lot to do with the weight gain since I had such a problem with it last time.  Other than that, the normal heartburn and backaches come and go and I'm crazy tired but I don't really have any other issues.  I don't ever ...
