Do you ever find yourself actually wanting to watch sad movies? I do sometimes. I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's because there are so many stupid and pointless movies out there that I would rather bawl my eyes out at the special and sad meaning of a movie than waste my 2 hours starting at something meaningless.
Here are a few of my favorite sad movies (and by favorite I mean movies that make me cry so hard my eyes might actually pop out of my head) in order by release date:
Here are a few of my favorite sad movies (and by favorite I mean movies that make me cry so hard my eyes might actually pop out of my head) in order by release date:
(2010)
Not the best movie in the world but I was ridiculously shocked and saddened by the end because I just didn't see it coming.
(2009)
Ok, I admit, I didn't actually see the movie. I saw a few bits of the movie but I knew I wasn't going to be able to see the whole thing so I turned it off. I have read the book, though, and I cried like a baby.
(2008)
I don't even know what to say. Every time I watch this movie I cry but I can't NOT watch it. It's such a good movie and such a unique idea.
(2008)
What's not to love about this movie? I mean he gives up his life to help the lives of the people he hurt.
(2008)
This movie is haunting. Anytime you include innocent children, there are bound to be tears.
(2008)
Why didn't you just rat her out?! Why did you let her go to prison?!
(2008)
If you don't cry at Marley & Me there is something seriously wrong with you.
(2004)
One of my favorite movies of all time. I can't believe it's 8 years old.
(2004)
I was actually really angry when this movie won best picture at the Oscars in 2005. Not because there were really any other good movies out there, just because I hadn't seen it so I didn't think it deserved the award. I was wrong. It should have won them all.
(2003)
Such a simple and crazy movie but it makes me cry every time.
(1997)
What? You don't think Titanic was a tear jerker? You're CRAZY!! I remember seeing this movie in theater!
(1993)
Of course I was 10 when this movie came out so I didn't really understand the true meaning of the movie until I was much older. One of the best movies ever made. And it just happened to be playing on our Showtime channel this past weekend.
(1990)
Again, a movie I didn't understand until I was much older. It's a classic. It's sad. It makes me cry every time.
I'm sure there are 100 more movies I could list but I'm all sadded out for now. What movies make you cry? Do you like that sappy crappy feeling you get from watching tear jerkers or do you just try to avoid them all together? Is it weird that sometimes I just like to watch a good sad story?
