Not only am I now trying to plan our dinners every week, I'm also doing a full on schedule of everything we have going on and everything I want to do. I need to get myself into a better routine. I keep saying I want to go for walks after work with Ashlyn but I never do. I keep saying I want to make sure we have a dinner schedule but we never stick to it. I keep saying that I want things to be more organized but they never are.
So here is my weekly schedule:
As you can see, there are already some things crossed off because of schedule changes. For example, on Tuesday, while I did take Ashlyn for a walk after work (and she slept through the whole walk), my husband didn't get home until 7 and then had more running to do for work so we did not get our pork and potatoes for dinner. So, even though I was seriously irritated, I guess I'll just make it tonight and rearrange the schedule.
I'm hoping that by creating this schedule each week, I will hold myself accountable for what's on it. I need to start shedding some lbs so I'm scheduling the walks. We need to stop eating out so much so I'm scheduling the dinners and printing the recipes ahead of time. I need to stop double booking us for weekend activities so they are all here.
I can always cross things off and move them around but I'm hoping that I don't have to do it too often. I'm hoping that I don't fall into a pattern of, 'oh we can just move this to this night instead.' What would the purpose of the schedule be? I feel like I need this schedule right now, though, to bring some order into my life. My husband's business has been crazy busy and I feel like the days are blending together as I try to handle my full time job and the home front because he isn't around. Let's hope this helps to restore some of my sanity.
I will post this calendar each week with the Menu Monday blog post.
