Life's a Beach

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the beach.  Friends of ours have a condo in Ocean City, MD and they invited us to spend the weekend.  We spent some time on the beach and some time in the pool.  We spent some time on the MD boardwalk and went to the Rehoboth boardwalk.  We ate some really good food (and some really bad food).  We stayed up late and slept in.  It was Ashlyn's second time at the beach and Bryan's first time.  Ashlyn loved the sand but not the water.  Bryan loved the water but not the sand.  The both had a lot of fun on the beach and in the pool and as a family, we all had a great time!   He wasn't phased by the water at all.  He just took it all in.   She spent all of her time building sand castles with Daddy.   This was just after she took a tumble in the water.  A wave knocked her right on her but and then onto her back.  She was not a happy girl.           It took Ashlyn a little while to get used to the

Nine Months!

By the time I get this dam thing posted I'll need to post his ten month update! The basics? Diapers - Size 4 but using cloth more and more Clothing - 12-18 month Food - Everything and anything!  Eating more regular foods every day. Sleeping - Through the night! Teeth - Eight chompers with the possibility of one or two more Words - ba ba, da da, mu mu Favorite toy - Activity cube, anything he's not supposed to play with His 9 month check up was great.  He's not such a little dude anymore!  He weighed in at 21lbs 4 ounces (75%) and was 31 inches long (99%)!!!!  I can't believe how tall this little dude is.  He's a full 2 inches taller than his sister was at that age.  The best part about it is that he is only one pound shy of his sister at a year and he is already taller than his sister was at a year.  Such a big boy! Little man is still rocking the 12 and 18 month clothing.  He still fits into some of his 12 month stuff but he mostly wears 18 months.  I

Mother's Day Madness

Oh this poor blog.  I'm so far behind I haven't even blogged about Mother's Day yet!  Well, here goes. Mother's Day was good and bad.  My husband decided that we were going to spend Saturday night into Sunday at his brother's house.  He lives about an hour and a half away from us.  We have spent a few weekends at his house and it's always pretty much the same.  Kids don't want to sleep so Mommy doesn't get to sleep. The guys were going to go out into the woods and tent camp for the night and then come back in the morning and make breakfast.  We got a pretty bad storm, though, so they decided to just sleep in the back yard.  Yes, these men are weird. I fully expected to wake up to breakfast Sunday but that wasn't the case.  Unfortunately, whenever my husband and his brother get together, they forget about everyone else.  My sister in law and I had to nag until they finally made breakfast! Once breakfast was over and we packed our things, we

So What Wednesday

So what if it my son has been a giant crap head this week.  Seriously. This kid has been possessed.  He has been whiny and clingy and inconsolable.  He has fought bed time every single night for the past three nights and has been waking 2-3 times each night and refuses to go back to sleep easily. He seems to want me to hold him at all times but even that doesn't seem to calm him at all.  He just whines and cries most of the time. He does have a cold that has left him with a terrible, rattling cough, but he's had it before and he was not nearly as miserable.  He also has had a low grade fever (99.1 at last temp check) which hardly even qualifies as a fever.  I've been pumping him full of Tylenol which seems to help a little bit but not much. I can deal with the whining and complaining and even the clinginess.  But the not sleeping through the night?  I can't deal with that shit.  Last night the only way he would sleep was on me.  I'm not big on co-
