What's In A Name?

I always have tons of baby names swirling around in my head.  I write them down on random pieces of paper that get scattered throughout my office or home.  So now I'm writing them here.  All of the names that I love for this next baby. I didn't reveal Ashlyn's name until she was born.  I didn't want to hear any opinions on the name we had chosen for her.  You know how people get.  Oh well I know an Ashlyn and she's a character.  Oh well I know three Ashlyn's so that name isn't as unique as you think.  Ashlyn?  What kind of a name is that? Yea....wasn't having it. I don't really care this time, though.  I feel like I'm a little more laid back this time around.  I feel like the hormones aren't making me quite as crazy as they did last time.  So here are a few names that I have picked out so far.  I'll add to this list and re-post as I come up with more names. Girls Names: Brenlyn Grace  (love, love, love this name...husband hates

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I spent most of my day yesterday in the bathroom throwing up.  I think I got a stomach bug because I just couldn't keep anything down. I lost 3lbs due to above mentioned stomach bug.  3lbs in one day.  Blah. My Mom gave me more chicken pot pie since it's the only thing I've been able to eat lately that doesn't make me want to throw up. I'm officially changing my vote to Boy.  I just have a feeling. After weeks of anticipation for this first ultrasound, my husband forgot about the appointment.  I was left on my own to wrangle our toddler while getting an ultrasound done.  Momma was not a happy camper. I'm thinking about sharing my list of names for this baby.  I would really like one big snowstorm before the warmer weather gets here.  I really love snow and I feel like we got ripped off this year.  Sorry to all of those who are stuck with tons of snow! I started tearing up when the lady from the pre-admis

13 Week Bumpdate

I finally got to see my little baby today!  It seems like it took forever to get here!  I had my first ultrasound with Baby Girl at 12 weeks, 5 days so they are very comparable in size. The heart rate today was 171 and, again, I didn't write down the heart rate for Baby Girl at this time so I can't compare!  I think hers was still in the 160 range.  The baby didn't move nearly as much as Baby Girl did at this point.  He or she just chilled with his or her hands up by his or her head, like he or she was laying in a hammock! Everything looks good.  Doctor says the baby is measuring perfectly according to my due date.  They did the neck test for Downs and that was normal as well. I took Baby Girl with to see the ultrasound.  She was a little freaked out at first.  I don't think she liked being in the room.  But once the lights went off and we got situated, she was fascinated by the screen.  She was bored with it after about five minutes.  Oh well! I thought th

-I'm pretty sure this baby hates me. He or she has decided that he or she does not like food anymore and he or she makes me sick every time I eat. Mommy does not think it's funny. -Baby Girl is sick, yet again. This time it's a nasty cold. Problem is, if she doesn't get over by the end of the week, we have to re-schedule her ear surgery. I was really hoping to get it done before she had a chance to get another ear infection but that might not be the case. -I'm so tired of dog and cat hair that I'm actually considering having all of the animals shaved. Not only will it cut down on the hair, it will solve the flea problem that one of them has. What do you think? Will a pug still look cute if he is hairless? -I went grocery shopping on Sunday and got a week's worth of awesome meals to make only to realize that we won't hardly be home this week. Guess I'll have to try again next week. -I really only watch the Oscar's for the fashion. Those wo

Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Friday's Letters, my bad.  I had you all written out yesterday and ready to go and then I forgot to post you!  Dear Baby Girl, I'm so sorry that you are sick, yet again.  This little cold you have is really kicking your butt.  I can't say I'm not glad I got to stay home with you Thursday, though.  I'm just anxious to find out if this little cold will push back your surgery date. Dear Baby #2, only a few more days until we get to see you!  I'm so excited!  Dear Grey's, OMG!  You are amazing!  Every single week you are just awesome.  I won't spoil it in case people didn't watch yet but I'm so happy with this show! Dear Shady Maple,   it looks like we will be visiting you twice in the next few days.  Please be kind and don't tempt me too much.  I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday and I have to weigh in.  I still have zero weight gain and I'd like to ke

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I took Baby Girl to the doctor last night just because she has been so cranky lately (and not eating).  I really did think something was wrong but it turns out she is just teething.  Stupid molars!  My Mom gave me some of her chicken pot pie for dinner last night and I couldn't get enough of it.  It was the first time in months that I have eaten a meal without wanting to throw up!Comfort food at it's finest. I voted girl on my poll but I'm starting to get a boy vibe.  Not sure what to think.  Don't forget to vote! I'm nervous about Baby Girl getting tubes in here ears even though I know it's only a quick in and out surgery.  Baby Girl had an epic meltdown at the restaurant on Valentine's Day and we had to pack up our food and take it home to eat.  That's what we get for taking a tired toddler to dinner. My husband's Valentine's Day gift did come in time!!  I got him a new wedding band becau

Once Again...

I think my profile changed me to a no-reply blogger again.  I don't understand why it keeps doing this!  I'm sitting here wondering why people aren't responding to my comments and then it hit me, I must be no-reply again.  Can someone please tell me if I have fixed this once again? Thanks!

Fab Fridays

This week, I think these things are Fabulous!     I got to hear my baby's heart beat this week.  It took a little while to find it but it was there. 174. Nice and strong.  One more week until the first ultrasound!   Valentine's Day.  It wasn't perfect.  Baby Girl had a full on melt down at the restuarant but at least we got to sit at a nice table in front of a nice fireplace and eat some amazing food for a half hour.  The rest had to go home with us so we could eat there!     These redneck sippers we got in the Poconos.  They were too funny to pass up.

Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Baby Girl, I know that restaurants aren't your favorite place to be lately.  You want to run and play and not sit in a high chair for an hour.  But did you really have to act like a spastic last night at our Valentine's Day dinner?  You're lucky you have such loving parents who got their food to go and let you nap at home while we ate.  Happy Valentine's Day to us. Dear Baby #2,  I'm sorry Daddy didn't record your heart beat on Monday.  He wasn't quick enough.  But I can't wait to see you in a week.  Your sister will be there and she can't wait to see you too!  Dear Husband, we made the best of what we had to work with last night.  Nuff said. Dear Presidential speech,  really?  You had to make this speech during my regularly schedule Smash time?  So.Not.Cool.  Dear Grammy's, you were kind of boring and the best performance was from an artist I don't even know!

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... Our mini vacation was first ruined by the plague that my husband and I had and then ruined by snow that we didn't even get! We forgot Baby Girl's pack and play while on said mini vacation so she slept on the floor.  We made it very cushy for her! I look four months pregnant already.  I wear my bump proudly. I cleaned the house before we went on vacation and now it's looking like a hoarder house again.  We just cant keep our shit organized. We are taking our babies to dinner with us on Valentine's Day.  I'm sure my Mom would watch Baby Girl for us but what fun is that?  If we have to take one, we should take the other! We are having dinner at one of my favorite local restaurants for Valentine's Day even though I know it's going to be packed and service will be slow. I ordered my husband a Valentine's Day gift but it won't be here in time. My husband sent me flowers for Valentine's Day a da

11 Week Bumpdate

I wanted to post this yesterday and didn't get a chance! Well first off, I thought my doctor's appointment was Monday and it turns out it was actually scheduled for Tuesday.  Oops.  Pregnancy brain.  They were nice enough to see me anyway.  I was hoping for an ultrasound but no such luck.  That's a good thing because it means we finally heard the heartbeat! I was 9 weeks when we heard Baby Girl's heartbeat and let me tell you, waiting these extra two weeks to hear it was terrible!  I was so nervous that we weren't going to be able to hear it.  He tried using the abdominal Doppler at first but no luck.  So then he went in with the vaginal Doppler and after an uncomfortable minute or two, we had a hear beat. 174. Nice and strong.  For some reason, I didn't write it on my blog what Baby Girl's first heart rate was but I think it was in the 160's.  Anyway, I go back in 2 weeks for my first ultrasound and I can't wait!  I was pretty sick over

Fab Fridays

This week, I think these things are Fabulous! The fact that I get five days of uninterrupted play time with my daughter and husband in a beautiful home in the Poconos where the snow is plenty and the fireplace is burning. (Cut short due to the bad weather we didn't get) I have my next doctor's appointment on Monday. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat and possibly see this little baby. These Superbowl Commercials:

Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Baby Girl, these antibiotics have really be kicking your butt (literally) and I am so sorry. You have never had diaper rash this badly before and you make Mama's heart aches every time you cry when I change you. I am so glad you're better now! Dear Baby #2, I can't wait to hear your heart beat and possibly see you on Monday. Dear Husband, looks like your sleeping on the couch didn't help this time around. This flu or bug or whatever you want to call it is just awful! Dear baby doctor, would you please do an ultrasound on Monday? I know I will only be 11 weeks and1 day but how much longer are you going to make me wait? I want to see my next little monster! Dear Smash, I am so glad to have you back!!! Dear snow, I am extremely angry with you.  You threaten a ton of snow so we cut our vacation short and now you aren't coming. Not cool. Dear Beyonce, really? Was all the hair

Tuesday Topics: Five Activities

Linking up with Tiffany from The Austin Family Diary for   Five Activities in my hometown.   My hometown is pretty small so there isn't really much to do there.  The nice part is that my hometown is really part of a metro area that includes about 12 zip codes so there is plenty to do!   One of the most popular things to do in around my hometown is to walk down Penn Avenue and shop!  Penn Avenue is lined with stores, salons, cafes and restaurants.  They hold wine festivals and art festivals.  They have a farmer's market of sorts every Sunday.  All of the stores are beautifully landscaped (mostly by my husband) and it really makes for a nice atmosphere!     West Reading Shopping   More shopping can be done at our outlet.  They have all kinds of stores in the outlet and they even have a designer outlet.  I know the outlet is struggling but we still see many buses come to the outlet so people can shop for the day.     VF Outlet (if you want the re

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I have an unusual obsession with makeup. I only use a few basic staples on a daily basis but I save the rest for special occasions! I banned Baby Girl from eating blueberries. They give her explosive blue poops and we just can't have that. Baby Girl gets the same exact thing for breakfast every morning. She likes it and when I give her something different, she won't eat. I almost cried at the grocery store last week because they didn't have the pasta bowl I wanted. I'm sure I looked like a pretty big douche standing there swearing at those pasta bowls. Pregnancy hormones at their finest. I could spend all day just reading and commenting on the tons of blogs I am subscribed to. I love to hear what you ladies have to say. I told my husband that I should not be allowed to go grocery shopping alone. Last week I came home with nachos and cheese, iced animal crackers and chocolate covered granola bars. Oh and a

I don't think I'm going to post baby updates every week or every other week like I did last time.  I think I'm just going to post updates when I have doctor's appointments or when something cool happens.  I'm not trying to 'rob' the second child of his or her time to shine, I just don't want to bore people with the same information every week. That being said, I am 10 weeks along and my next doctor's appointment is next Monday.  Yay!  We didn't hear the heartbeat at the first appointment because I was only 7 weeks so we will get to hear it this time.  I'm not sure when my first ultrasound will be but I'm hoping it's soon!  This pregnancy has been much different from Baby Girl's.  I have been much more nauseous this time around so I have been eating less.  I have lost a few pounds rather than gained five already like I did last time.  Last week I was able to eat more but then Friday was a bad day again. Even though I have lo

Fitness Friday

Linking up with Mandy from Mommy Musings for       It's been a while since I've linked up!  I didn't really want to link up and talk about weight loss when I knew I wasn't going to be losing any more weight any time soon!  Now that I have announced my pregnancy, I can talk about safe ways to exercise while pregnant. I did not exercise at all during my first pregnancy.  I ate whatever I wanted and I did not exercise.  That was a mistake.  I only gained about 33 pounds with my first pregnancy but I'm sure I could have gained less had I been a little more conscious of my food choices and exercise options. My husband and I started eating healthier in the past year so I know that's going to help me this time around.  I still need to add some exercise to my routine, though!  Chasing a toddler around helps but it's not a constant exercise routine. I already notice a big difference between pregnancies.  I will be 10 weeks on Sunday and by that t

Fab Fridays

This week, I think these things are Fabulous!  I realized that the laundry detergent I was using for Baby Girl is OK to use in our new wash machine.  This makes me so happy because I love the way the detergent smells and even wash my own clothes in it sometimes just so I can smell it!  (Yes, I'm obsessed)      I am in love with Old Navy's maternity section.  I got a bunch of cute shirts and a new pair of pants that actually fit!   I finally got my new iPod registered and loaded.  I listen to it every single day at work because it helps to pass the time.  I love it!      We are having dinner with friends tomorrow night.  We haven't seen them in a while and they have a little boy who is just the cutest little thing so I'm very excited.  And we are going to one of my favorite restaurants because I have been craving their food lately!

Coffee Talk

Linking up with 23SEVENTEEN for 1.  When eating a taco, do you turn your head or do you turn the taco? Yea I turn my head.  I mean if I don't, then all of the cheese will fall out of the top! 2. Chocolate chip cookies or Oeos? Chocolate chip cookies for sure.  But only if they are a little hard.  I don't like soft cookies.  My grandmother always makes it a point to give me the 'burnt' cookies at Christmas!  I will only eat softer cookies if they are homemade. 3. What's the craziest thing you've ever been asked to do and did? Hmmm...I did a lot of crazy things in my 'drinking days' but I guess the craziest was when my husband and I went to a strip club.  But I wasn't really asked, it was kind of my idea because I wanted to see what all the hype was about.  I actually had fun.  And then our friends didn't believe that I didn't care about going so they asked me to go with them too.  It's really n
