Friday's Letters

No link up while the  Adventures of Newlyweds blog us under construction but here are my letters anyway! Dear Labor Day Weekend,   we have decided that we are going to spend you at Cape May this year.  This is the first time we have ever gone away for you and the first time we have been away at all in almost two years.  Let's rock this! Dear weekend weather, you are supposed to be beautiful so please be just that. Dear Baby Girl, you are about to experience your first trip to the beach!  It's ok if you don't like it (Mommy's not a huge fan either) but please try to refrain from throwing up, running a fever, developing a cold or an ear infection or catching any other illness.  We like you healthy. Dear Puggers, Mommy and Daddy are leaving you with your Gran for the weekend.  We know that deep down inside she loves you and loves having you around even though she says otherwise.  Just be nice to her this weekend. Dear Ryan & Amy, I get teary eyed wh

I Hate(d) Mornings

I am not a morning person.  I never have been.  My husband is a jump-out-of-bed-as-soon-as-the-alarm-goes-off kind of person.  I am a hit-the-snooze-button-as-many-times-as-I-possibly-can-before-I- really -have-to-get-up kind of person.  A five-more-minutes kind of person.  An if-you-wake-me-before-my-alarm-goes-off-I-will-punch-you-in-the-face kind of person. Let me re-phrase...I was that person. Then I had a baby. And when your baby wakes up and quietly says Mama and gives you the biggest stinking smile you have ever seen....it makes waking up before the alarm goes off totally worth it.

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... We leave for the beach in two days and I am not even a little packed or prepared.  I still have a long list of items needed before we I can even think about packing. I'm sortof kindof nervous about our first trip with Baby Girl.  I know we are only traveling about 3 hours away but there are so many what ifs when traveling with babies! I totally filled up my loofah with hair conditioner instead of soap in the shower this morning.  I came out smelling like a nice strawberry cucumber melon fruit cocktail. I can't decide what to do about Baby Girl's first birthday.  Go Big or Stay Home? The only thing I have decided on is her first birthday outfit. Ridiculously Adorable! My Mom got mad at me when I showed her the first birthday outfit because I said no to this frilly dress. No thank you! All I can think about is having another baby!  Ladies, your birth stories and baby announcements and gender reveals are

Baby Blues

Your baby's vision — previously about 20/40 at best — is now almost adult-like in its clarity and depth perception. Though your baby's short-range sight is still best, her long-range vision is good enough to recognize people and objects across a room. She may see a toy on the other side of the room and try to crawl toward it. Her eyes are also probably close to their final color, although you may see subtle changes later.   Looks like we get to keep those baby blues :)

Go BIG or Stay Home?

I am having a ridiculously hard time deciding what to do about Baby Girls' first birthday, which is only 103 days away.  Yes, in a little over 3 months, my little angel will be turning a year old and I can't believe it.  I am stunned by how quickly this time is moving and so sad to see my tiny tater tot turning into a big girl right before my eyes!   So the question is...do we go   BIG   or stay home?    Go BIG = rent a space, make some food, hang some decorations, make some party favors, invite everyone, have a blast.   Stay home = cut the list to close family and friends ONLY and keep it simple with some food trays and cake.    Even cutting the list to close family and friends, we are looking at 10-20 people, which means we would probably still have to have it at my Mom's house because our house is just way too small.  So, do we just bite the bullet and rent some space and invite everyone?   What did you all do for your baby's first birthd

Friday's Letters

I'm linking up with Adventures of Newlyweds for Dear Baby Girl, I'm sorry that you threw up all over the place Monday.  You took it like a little champ, though, and played in the bath tub afterwards.   You are such an amazing little girl and I could not have ever imagined a more perfect child! Dear Jeweler, thank you for getting my bling back to me.  I'm sort of kind of in love with it. Dear disgruntled employee who shot up NY today, WTF dude?  Was it really that serious that you had to go and ruin the lives of so many other people?  Dear Best Friend, Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number, so call me maybe.  PS. thanks to you and yours for the flowers!  PSS. why is that girl in our office so loud?  LOL Dear blog , I know I'm still neglecting you. I'm sorry. Dear weekend that I am trying to plan, I am beginning to get excited about you!  Let's make it work! Dear Cyrus from SYTYCD, I love your dancing and I

Justice? Or Just Wrong?

My husband and I live in the Reading area of PA.  While we don't live in the city of Reading (and never would), we do live right outside of the city and must venture our way into the city every now and then.  It's not a nice place to live.  It has very narrow streets, tons of stop signs/lights and a whole lot of crime.  It's a hard city to get around in, especially if you're not from 'around here' as people like to say. A couple of months ago, a little 3 year old girl was hit while crossing the street in this dreadful town and she died.  The driver of the vehicle fled.  The immediate reaction was devastation, sympathy for the family and pure hatred for the driver.  Why would someone hit a little girl and then flee? Well then we have this article that explains how the young man who hit and killed the 3 year old was taken into custody as he was on his way to turn himself in:   3 Year Old Hit and Run . So if you read the article, you will see these comments:

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... We waited too long to book a room for this weekend so now we are going next weekend instead.  This friggin weekend better be worth all of the hassle. I have realized that I have a really weird commitment phobia when it comes to booking any place to stay if the work 'motel' is in the title. I finally am able to wear all of my wedding rings.  I cheated and had them re-sized but who cares? Baby Girl had a nasty rash that started last Wednesday after I had just posted my SWW saying she was healthy!  It was nothing and went away after a few days. Baby Girl then threw up EVERYWHERE Monday night!  It was like a horror movie but with baby vomit instead of blood. I still haven't sent out some of the thank you cards from Baby Girl's Dedication back in June. They are all written out, just have to add stamps. I'm such a slacker. I literally only posted my SWW and Friday's Letters last week.  I have to get some time to wo

Friday's Letters

I'm linking up with Adventures of Newlyweds for Dear Baby Girl, I'm sorry that you are sick AGAIN.  Hopefully this rash you have will go away over the weekend and you will be good as new.  At least you get to stay home today.  Sorry I didn't get to stay home with you :( Dear opportunity that was knocking on our door, you suck. Dear Jeweler, would you call me already.  I want my bling back. Dear girl in the downstairs office, I'm sorry that someone hit your car in our parking lot.  Maybe if you would park in the lot that you belong in your car wouldn't have been hit.  Still sucks and I know I'd be pissed if someone hit my Beamer. Dear person who hit the car, you suck and you should be ashamed of yourself.  You could have at least left an insurance card. Dear blog , I know I'm still neglecting you.  I'm sorry.    Dear weekend that I am trying to plan, you are getting on my nerves.  You are almost not worth all of the work and researc

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... We are supposed to be going away next weekend but I still haven't booked a hotel or decided where we are going yet.  Planning a weekend away is a lot of work! My wedding rings were like a year past due for cleanings.  I had a baby.  Give me a break. I got my rings re-sized so I could finally wear them again.  Yes, they had to be sized UP but whatevs.  I get my bling back. Baby Girl hasn't been sick in about a week.  Crossing my fingers she stays healthy! I still haven't sent out some of the thank you cards from Baby Girl's Dedication back in June.  They are all written out, just have to address and stamp.  I'm such a slacker. Baby Girl is obsessed with mashed potatoes and yells at us if we eat them and don't give her any.  Shit gets real when potatoes are involved. We still haven't baby proofed anything in our house even though Baby Girl is almost mobile.  Guess we better get on that. I have not watched So

My oh My...How the Time Flies!

I can't believe that in exactly 4 months I will have a one year old!  Why is all of this time just flying by?  I mean, my pregnancy felt like it took FOREVER but these last 8 months?  Gone.......In.the.blink.of.an.eye.  The basics? Diapers - size 3, still using the generics from Wal-Mart. Clothing - 6 to 9 month and some 12 month. Even some 18 month stuff depending on how it's made! Food - stage 2 baby foods and some 'adult' foods like mashed potatoes and easily dissolvable crackers and breads.  I want to start giving her more fruit now that she has some teeth! Sleeping - pretty well.  She was having some issues with being sick and with teething but she has been sleeping pretty well lately. Daycare - still ok. Hoping to get her out soon, or at least only send her part time. Camera roll - 965 pictures, 132 downloads (I deleted some) Teeth - 2 bottoms so far.  2 tops might be coming soon! Words - Da Da, Ma Ma, Na Na Baby Girl is still big into rolling wher

Friday's Letters

I'm linking up with Adventures of Newlyweds for Dear Baby Girl, I can't believe you turned 8 months old yesterday.  I am excited by how much you have grown but also saddened by how quickly it is all moving.  Slow down little girl.  It's not time to grow up just yet! Dear daycare care givers, you suck!  My little girl has another cold and possibly another ear infection.  I'm about to lose my Mama Grizz cool with you. Dear Olympics,  no offense but I'm starting to get bored with you.  Dear opportunity knocking on our door, so far you have not done what I have asked.  You get one more chance next week.  Please don't waste it. Dear lost makeup bag, you have no idea how happy I was when my husband found you.  Stay out of our grocery bags from now on and don't ever scare me like that again. Dear Dove deoderant, thanks for being made in the USA! Dear blog , I'm sorry I have been neglecting you.  We have been so busy lately but hopefull

Blog Star: Hi, I'm Vanessa!

Linking up with Mrs. Monologues for Blog Star.     Hi, I'm Vanessa! Here are a few facts about me: I never thought I would love being a Mom as much as I do.  It helps that I have an amazing kid who is ridiculously adorable and makes me laugh every single day.  I can't wait to have another one (two, or three) just like her! My amazing kid who is ridiculously adorable and makes me laugh every single day.   I am not a morning person.  It doesn't matter what time I go to bed the night before.  I hate mornings.  I am a set four alarms on my cell phone and hit snooze on all four alarms person.  I have an extremely foul mouth.  I can't help it.  It's just part of my vocabulary.  I blame my Dad. But I try really hard not to swear in my blog posts.  I am a super duper Twilight fan.  I mean, I'm not a t-shirt wearing, tote bag wielding, fleece blanket on the couch kind of fan but I do love Twilight.  100 days until the final movie.  (oh and ye

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I haven't had any time to read any of my blogs and I'm seriously bummed about it.  I loved reading my blogs every day and I'm missing it! I haven't posted a single thing besides my SWW and Friday's letters.  Hopefully I will have time tomorrow to post something! My Baby Girl turns 8 months old tomorrow.  I can't believe I have an 8 month old.  I can't believe that in 4 months, I will have a 1 year old. My husband FINALLY agreed to a weekend away!  Yes, we are taking Baby Girl with us but I'm ok with that.  I think we are going to Baltimore for the weekend.  I can't wait to take her to the aquarium. My house is a MESS.  I really just don't have enough time in a day. I went out and bought all new makeup and my best friend gave me a bunch she never used since my makeup bag was lost forever....and then my husband (of all people) found my makeup bag. I turned all of Baby Girl's 6 month dresses i

Friday's Letters

I'm linking up with Adventures of Newlyweds for Dear Baby Girl, Mommy and Daddy are working very hard to get you out of daycare.  I know that place is making you sick!  I know by your runny nose and sneezing this morning that you are probably getting another cold or ear infection and I know it's because of that little boy in your room.  We are on it! Dear daycare care givers, please keep my kid away from that kid with the ear infection.  She has been sick enough! Dear Gabby, congratulations on your gold medal!  You rocked!  Go USA! Dear opportunity knocking on our door, please please please....I'm begging you, work out in our favor.  We really need this. Dear Sunday, I don't think we have any plans for your for a change and I couldn't be more happy about it.  I look forward to you so let's make it a great day! Dear wherever I go shopping later, please be good to me.  I know that I am having issues with the baby weight but I really need some

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I almost completely forgot to do my SWW post!  I love this post!  I have 7 other drafted blog posts that I just don't have time to finish right now.  We have just been so busy! Baby Girl has been waking up a few times a night because she wants her pacifier.  I assume she is teething and that's why she wants it?  Mama Grizz is tired. I stayed up late last night just to watch the US gymnastics team take the gold.  It's really the only Summer Olympics sport I like to watch. I haven't hardly taken any pictures of Baby Girl lately.  She never sits still anymore!  I lost my makeup bag.  All of my makeup essentials...gone.  That's what I get for always putting my makeup on in the car.  I won't learn my lesson and I will take a new makeup bag with me in the car and hope not to lose that one. I painted Baby Girl's toes.  Too.Cute. I am continuing the countdown for Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2. 107 days t
