Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Baby Girl, I'm so sorry that you have another ear infection.  Now we have to go see the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and talk about some tubes.  I'm really hoping we don't have to deal with that just yet but we will decide when the times comes.  You have been such a little trooper and Mommy thanks you for taking your medicine so easily, even though I know it's probably really gross! Dear Baby #2, thank you!!  Almost 10 weeks and still not a pound gained!!  I'm pretty sure I had already gained 5 pounds with Baby Girl by this point so thank you!!  Now let's keep it going until my next doctor's appointment. Dear CVS, you have got to be the worst Pharmacy I have ever visited!  I waited in the drive thru line for what felt like forever before I finally decided to give up and go inside in the pouring rain.  Then I stood in line to wait for my daughter's prescription only to hear

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... My husband is sick and sleeping on the couch again.  It sucks but it's for the best.  My husband and I want to get a 'new' vehicle even though we've only had the Beamer for a year and a half.  I love that thing but two car sets, a double stroller and all the other crap you have to carry around with a newborn?  Not gonna work. I finally got my new iPod hooked up and I love it!  Now I just need a new pair of ear buds.  I love the Skullcandy buds. We went to 3 different stores on Sunday looking for new puzzle floor mats for Baby Girl to play on and we found NONE!  I was very angry.  Baby Girl has another ear infection.  Now it's time for a visit to the ear, nose and throat specialist.  I'm really hoping they won't suggest tubes. I gave Baby Girl some of the marshmallows from my lucky charms for breakfast because I felt bad for dragging her to the doctor at 8:30 last night.  She gobbled them up so I gue

Tuesday Topics: 6 Memories

Linking up with Tiffany from The Austin Family Diary for My six memories: The day my Grandmother had a heart attack.   I know this is a sad memory but it's a big one.  I was the one who took my Grandmother to the ER because she felt like she had the flu.  I was the one who stayed with her until 4am, to finally find out that she had a heart attack.  I was there at 6am to see her off to her open heart surgery, which turned into a quadruple bypass.  3 1/2 years later, she has had issues with her diabetes and hernias, kidney problems, a pace maker placed and breast cancer.  She has gone through a lot in the past few years but she has always fought through.  She's one tough cookie!   The day I graduated from college. Of course I can't find any of the pictures we took for this but that's OK.  It was really important to me because it took me 15 semesters to graduate!  That's 7 1/2 years!  I went to college full time my first year, took a year off,

Fab Fridays

This week, I think these things are Fabulous!     I announced my pregnancy.  I just couldn't hold it in any longer.  We were telling people anyway so why not just announce it.  It took a little while for people to notice the t-shirt!   We have nothing planned for this weekend.  It's been a long time since that has happened so I'm looking forward to it.   I literally just found out that our local hospital has an 'elegant dining' option where my husband and I can both order steaks and shrimp and all kinds of awesome food during our next baby stay!   I already started a registry for Baby #2.  Yes I know he or she is only (almost) 9 weeks old, but Babies R Us is offering the chance to win a $250 gift card.  I'm jumping all over that!

Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Baby Girl,  it's like you've been walking for years.  You're a little pro.  I love the way you shuffle around the house now, walking from room to room to find something to get into! Dear Baby #2, do you think that you could crave some more healthy foods? First time around it was all sweets.  How about some salads this time?  Kudos to you for not making me gain any weight so far.  No kudos for not ever letting me finish a meal without wanting to vomit. Dear snow, I know we aren't supposed to get too much of you but it would be really cool if you could just dump a little bit our way.  I may be the only one in this city who actually likes you!  Dear weekend, we have NOTHING planned for you and I am OOBER excited. Dear Husband, I really think it's time to take the Christmas lights down.  We can replace them with red lights for Valentine's Day! Dear Burning Love, while you are prett

Heavy Heart

I apologize in advance because this is a sad and heavy post. It seems like for every one happy article I find, there are five bad ones.  I was so happy to read the article yesterday praising a man for defending a little boy with Down Syndrome (See Warms My Heart .  And then today, I find articles that just completely blow my mind in the other direction and give me such a heavy heart. Any one of these articles will make you cry if you read them so proceed with caution. Step mom Convicted in Death of Boy Father Sentenced to 80 Years in Death of Son Parents Jailed as Human Remains Discovered Ohio Couple Admits Forcing Kids Into Plastic Boxes I just don't understand it.  These are our children.  Our innocent little babies.  I know we get frustrated with them.  I know we yell at them.  I know that some of us spank our kids.  But putting our children in dog cages?  Putting them in plastic containers?  Depriving them of water for days on end? I just don't understand it.

Coffee Talk

I don't usually post anything on Thursdays or link up but I am today. Linking up with 23SEVENTEEN for the first time for   1.  Do you drink the milk after eating the cereal or do you dump it out? Actually, I keep filling up my cereal bowl with cereal until all the milk is gone!  2.  Do you share drinks/food? It depends on who I'm sharing with.  I always share my food with my daughter but not my drink (no backwash please).  I don't mind sharing food with my husband but I will not share a drink with him because he drinks the whole thing and that just irritates me! 3.  How often do you replace your toothbrush? I try to replace it whenever I notice the bristles getting shabby.  Or I replace it after I've gotten over a cold. 4.  How often do you wash your hair? Every other day.  Any more than that and my hair drys out. 5.  Do you use a dishwasher or do you hand wash your dishes? Ugh, hand wash and I hate it!  We had a dish

Warms My Heart

This warms my heart! Look at that adorable little boy!  Gah...those cheeks!! A Houston waiter who refused to serve a customer last week did not lose his job. Instead, Michael Garcia is being celebrated for standing up for a little boy with Down syndrome, with people stopping to shake his hand at the restaurant where regulars are made to feel like part of the family. Courtesy Kim Castillo Five-year-old Milo Castillo has lots of friends in preschool and loves to give hugs.  One of those regulars, Kim Castillo, was at Laurenzo’s Prime Rib in Houston last week when several waiters  topped by her table. Her 5-year-old son, Milo, who has Down syndrome and whose speech is a little delayed, was showing off his new words and talking about his birthday the week earlier.  A family sitting nearby asked to move away from the Castillo family's table, and a man in the group made a disparaging remark about Milo. “I heard the man say, ‘Special needs children need to be special some

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I announced my pregnancy much sooner than I had intended.  I was dying to let Baby Girl wear her Best Big Sis tshirt!  I am absolutely hating this freezing cold weather we are having.  The only way it should be this cold is if we have snow.  I don't see any snow. While I am looking forward to our mini vacation in a few weeks, I think it's going to be so cold that we stay inside most of the time.  Oh well.  Still much needed time away.  While I think it's adorable, it actually makes me a little sad to see my Baby Girl walking so much.  She's not so little anymore. I may be a little too excited for Smash to start.    I actually watched Parenthood last night!  I think it was the season finale, though, so yea...it only took me that long to get the schedule right. I added like 20 new blogs to my reading list this week. I still get a little angry when people don't respond to comments.  I respond to all of mine an

Tuesday Topics: 7 People

Linking up with Tiffany from The Austin Family Diary for Seven people I'd like to meet.   Robert Pattinson Say what you want but the man is hot and I'd love to meet him.   Charlize Theron I think that she is so beautiful and such a fantastic actress.   Patrick Dempsey McDreamy in the flesh?  Yes please!   Julia Roberts Another beautiful and phenomenal actress.   Tori Spelling I'm not really sure why I want to meet her.  I didn't really like her on 90210 but I can't drag myself away from the TV whenever her reality show is on.  Maybe it's because she's a family gal.   Steve Jobs  I would have loved to have been able to hold a conversation with one of the world's greatest innovators.  I will be buying his book.    Some of my blog friends!     Tell us who you'd like to meet. Link up today!

Big News!

We have been trying very hard to keep this to ourselves for just a little while longer but I can't wait anymore!    Baby Miller #2...due 09/01/13!!!!!!!!! I am 8 weeks and 1 day I have known since Christmas Eve I am much more tired and much more nauseous this time around I haven't gained a single pound yet, unlike last time I am not so secretly hoping it's another girl If this one is anything like Baby Girl, he or she will be born mid-August I've been leaving hints all over the place but no one noticed! I am so excited!   I've already had one doctor's appointment but I was only 7 weeks so there wasn't much to do.  We couldn't hear the heartbeat or anything so the next appointment will be much more exciting!  My next appointment isn't until February 11th so that's when I'll get to hear and possibly see my next little monster!  So exciting!   PS:  Notice the blog title?!

Fab Fridays

This week, I think these things are Fabulous!  How about the fact that we are going on a mini vacation in just over two weeks.  Oh yea.  We are going to spend some much needed time away.   My nephew.  His birthday was Wednesday and we are having a party for him at a laser tag place tomorrow.  He is UBER excited!   I got $75 worth of clothing for Baby Girl for only $15!!  Thank you coupons and gift cards!   The most fabulous thing this past week?  My little baby girl is now a walker.  She just all of the sudden decided to start walking.  Now she walks everywhere!  It's fun to see her explore but also sad to know she is growing so quickly!

Friday's Letters

Linking up with The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters Dear Baby Girl, I can't believe that you started walking.  I mean you just all of the sudden decided it was time.  And now you're everywhere!  I love watching you explore but I also get a little sad because I know you are growing so quickly.  Dear cold weather, I would really like for you to go away now.  I love snow and all but I really hate these temperatures.  Dear Carter's,   the reason I do most of my shopping with you online is because the local store has rude employees who are never helpful.  I love your clothes but I won't shop at your store if you can't hire people who actually want to work. Dear husband's employees, seriously?  If you aren't going to show up for work, don't you think you should at least call?  Dear weekend, you are probably our busiest one yet.  It's going to be crazy but let's make it good! Dear drama, I'm tired of you.  You do nothin

So What Wednesday

This week, I'm saying so what if... I still can't read or hear any news related to Sandy Hook.  I just can't hear about those poor children...ever.  It makes me too sad. My husband is still sleeping on the couch.  His flu symptoms are gone but he still has a nasty cough.  The plague treatment has paid off because Baby Girl and I didn't catch his illness. I finally got Baby Girl's birthday thank you cards done.  Our Christmas lights are still up outside.  And they are on a timer and we are too lazy to turn it off so they go on every night.  I'm sure my husband will take them down eventually. I prepped myself for Parenthood this week, caught up on all the episodes I missed, and I still missed it last night!  Good thing they show the episodes online! I DVR as many movies as possible when there is a free HBO/Cinemax/Stars weekend.  We have a ton of awesome movies to watch now! I'm starting to feel like I am linking up too much again.  I won'

Tuesday Topics: 8 TV Shows

Linking up with Tiffany from The Austin Family Diary for the first time for I missed ten and nine so I am starting with eight TV shows. I am in love with this show.  Where else can you see so many different things being addressed?  Adoption, single moms, in laws Cancer, Autism.  This show makes me laugh and cry every time. I think I started watching Grey's after ER left the scene.  ER was one of my favorites shows as well.  I didn't take to Grey's as quickly because I thought it was a knock off of ER.  I'm glad I started watching it because it's another show that makes you laugh and cry. Um...can we say awesome?  I love this show!  Kerry Washington equals amazing! Yes, it's a musical show and I really thought that I would hate it (since I can't stand Glee) but I LOVE it and I can't wait for the new season to start in February.  I wasn't a fan of Katherine McPhee on American Idol but I'm not really sure why.  I kno

Mommy Moments

What Baby Wore!   I think my favorite outfit for Baby Girl so far has been her first birthday outfit.     Does it get any cuter?  I found it on eBay. It came with the personalized onesie, the tutu and the headband with clip on bow. The onesie will get framed along with some other items from her party.
