Update 10/31/11

How far along: 33 weeks 6 days, 43 days to go! Size of baby: The size of a honeydew! Maternity Clothes: Nothing new recently! Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Lots and lots! What I miss: My energy! Cravings: I'm not really craving much of anything. Symptoms: A lot of aches and pains going on but nothing serious! So first off, it looks like the doctor is still sticking with my original due date of December 21st. They say I'm at 32 weeks, 5 days instead of 33 weeks, 6 days. I'm going to keep writing my posts at the newer due date of December 13th since I'm hoping she comes early anyway! Second, they did an ultrasound today. It was nice to see my Little Miss again except they did tell me that Little Miss is not so little. She is already weighing in at 6 pounds!!! I have 6 weeks left and she is supposed to gain 1/2 pound a week. That puts her at 9 pounds at birth! I wanted to smack my husband! I was only a 6 pound baby. He immediately called his Mom who told him that he was 9 p

Being Pregnant Sucks! (well it sucks this week)

This week has been getting progressively worse so I thought I'd share some of my thoughts about being pregnant this week. So let's see....I'm 33 weeks and 3 days and I have 46 days to go. My belly is HUGE! This can't be normal for 33 weeks. I mean, it's just huge. And my Mom keeps telling me that it's going to get a whole lot bigger! How much bigger can it possibly get?! Let me give you the dialogue at Wal-mart the other night: Check-out Girl: When are you due? Me: December Check-out Girl: December? I was thinking more like tomorrow! Ahahahaha Me: Walked away instead of punching her in the face Just another example of people being ignorant. I guess the nice part is that my pants aren't getting any tighter so at least I know I'm not growing a bigger butt too! See it's huge! Yes I'm in the bathroom at work LOL What's with the wrist pain? Seriously?! I have had the worst pain in my wrists all week. I can't really hold a pen with my right han

Update 10/25/11

How far along: 33 weeks, 49 days to go! UGH! Where has all of my energy gone?! I was feeling pretty good for a while. The mixture of cooler weather and my Little Miss kickboxing really lifted my moods. But now I feel like all of my energy has just been zapped out of me! It doesn't help that I have been sick with a cold for 2 weeks but still. I have been getting PLENTY of sleep and have been drinking a ton of water. I just have NO ENERGY! I'm also getting more and more nervous as the days pass on. My husband said to me last night, "I just don't think you're going to make it to December. Actually, I don't think you're going to make it to the baby shower!" WHAT?! He says he has a feeling that

My Favorite Thing...

I think it's safe to say I've been pretty miserable throughout my pregnancy. The heartburn, the swollen ankles, the mood swings, the lack of energy....just not ok with me. I wish that I could have skipped the first 6 months and just gone right to the third trimester! My husband thinks that my moods have improved because of the cooler weather. While I do think the heat killed me, I think there is another reason why my moods improved. I love to feel my Little Miss move! It's my favorite thing about the pregnancy. I love feeling her move! Sometimes I say that I feel like I have a worm in my belly because she moves so much but I don't care. I could sit for hours and just watch my belly and feel her move. I just love it. Maybe it makes the whole baby thing more real or maybe it's just really cool that there's something in there moving around. I don't really know what it is I just know that I love feeling her move! I finally got to experience her little hiccups! I

Update 10/17/11

How far along: 31 weeks 6 days, 57 days to go! Size of baby: Still the size of a squash but I feel like the size of a honeydew!Maternity Clothes: So far I love all of the Fall stuff I just got! Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Lots and lots! What I miss: My energy! Cravings: I'm not really craving much of anything. Symptoms: A lot of aches and pains going on but nothing serious! I'm disappointed because I thought I was getting an ultrasound today but I didn't. I was looking forward to seeing how big my little monster is! My husband asked if we missed one because he thought it was today too and the receptionist said no. She said she would put us in for one so we will see if she does. I go back in 2 weeks! Looks like everything is measuring properly and I only gained 2 pounds! Her heart rate was 145 today. The only thing I have to do is take 2 iron pills instead of one. I think I can handle that! I'm still feeling pretty good, aside from being tired and aside from being sick.

Update 10/11/11

How far along: 31 weeks, 63 days to go! Size of baby: Still the size of a squash Maternity Clothes: So far I love all of the Fall stuff I just got! Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Lots and lots! What I miss: My energy! My more stable moods! Cravings: I'm not really craving much of anything. Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time, no headaches, ankles swell occasionally, heartburn and backaches are the worst! I still don't have too much to report. I can't wait to go back to the doctor on Monday for my next ultrasound. I can't wait to see how big my little monster is! Maybe they will push my due date up again. I'm really hoping for early December rather than mid-December. I'm still feeling pretty good, aside from being tired. I think that the cooler temperatures are really helping my mood! My husband is happy for the change. He is actually looking forward to spending these last two months with me! Little Miss is still kicking all of the time. She kicks a

Weekend Update

I had a crazy weekend! I can't even remember what my husband and I did Friday night so I will just start with Saturday. I got to spend the entire day with the bride of this Saturday's wedding and her ex sister in law, who we will call Ex Sil. We had a dress fitting, then breakfast, then shopping (I got some really cute stuff from Old Navy), then wedding errands, then dinner and then, just waiting around for our husband's to get back from the bachelor party. It was a very long day but it was fun. I like spending time with Ex Sil because she is pregnant too and her due date is exactly one month behind mine! It's fun talking with her about baby stuff. She has chosen not to find out the sex of the baby. I give her and her husband a lot of credit because there is no way my husband and I could do that! They have the cutest little names picked out though! The groom had his bachelor party Saturday night and Ex Sil's husband my husband went so it was convenient for us to get

17 Tips - #4 Educate Yourself

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #4 Educate Yourself Even if this isn't your first baby, attending a childbirth class will help you feel more prepared for delivery. Not only will you have the chance to learn more about childbirth and infant care, but you can ask specific questions and voice any concerns. You'll also become more acquainted with the facility and its staff. Now is also a good time to brush up on your family's medical history. Talk to your doctor about problems with past pregnancies, and report any family incidences of birth defects. I have not done this one and, I will admit, I'm not planning to. I really have no interest in adding to my already busy schedule to sit and listen to someone tell me how to take care of my child. I know these classes are supposed to help you but I'm just not interested. I know that taking care of a baby is difficult but I have a lot of friends and family who have done all of this before! I'd rather rely on those people

Update 10/04/11

How far along: 30 weeks, 70 days to go! Size of baby: The size of a squash Maternity Clothes: Just ordered a bunch of Fall stuff...can't wait to get it! I realized today that I'm actually due on a Tuesday so I will be doing my updates on Tuesdays from now on! I haven't had too much going on in the past week so there isn't much to update. I've been feeling pretty good which is a nice change from how I was a few weeks ago. Little Miss is kicking pretty much all of the time now! I'm realizing more and more every day that this due date is getting closer and closer and I think my nesting is going to kick in soon! I'm getting nervous because our house isn't even close to being finished a

17 Tips - #3 Write a Birth Plan

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #3 Write a Brith Plan Determined to have a doula? Counting on that epidural? Write down your wishes and give a copy to everyone involved with the delivery. According to the American Pregnancy Association, here are some things to consider when writing your birth plan: - Who you want present, including children or siblings of the baby - Procedures you want to avoid - What positions you prefer for labor and delivery - Special clothing you'd like to wear - Whether you want music or a special focal point - Whether you want pain medications, and what kind - What to do if complications arise I haven't thought about this yet because it kind of freaks me out. Writing down everything that I want during delivery just makes it all the more real, and just reiterates the fact that it's only 2 1/2 months away! My doctor hasn't asked me about this yet so I will wait until she does to really worry about it but I know have to start thinking about it. I f
