So Close

So I just realized that at my last appointment the nurse told me that it's time to register at my local hospital and the doctor told me that after my October 17the appointment, I will be going every 2 weeks. That means it's getting closer! That means it's soon time for me to start freaking out because the nursery isn't even started yet! That means in 2 1/2 months Little Miss will be here! In 2 1/2 months I will have a child. How scary is that?!

17 Tips - #2 Exercise

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #2 Exercise Staying active is a must for most moms to be. Regular exercise will help you control your weight, improve circulation, boost your mood, and help you sleep better. Plus, getting into an exercise habit now will help you set a good example for your child after she's born. Pilates, yoga, swimming, and walking are all great activities for most pregnant women, but be sure to check with your doctor first before starting any exercise program. Aim for 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Listen to your body, though, and don't overdo it. Ok I will admit, this is a tough one for me. I never followed a workout routine before I got pregnant so it's hard for me to follow one now. I don't really exercise on a regular basis. I work in an office where I basically have a desk job. The most exercise I get during the day is due to my frequent trips to the bathroom! I will say that it's getting harder and harder just to walk long di

3D Ultrasound!!!

Ok, so let me start by saying that it wasn't as creepy as I thought it was going to be. I mean, it's still creepy to see the face of my baby before she is born but it wasn't that bad. Now I'm anxious to see what similarities I will find between her and the pictures. We went to Womb With a View on Saturday, September 24th to have the ultrasound done. My husband, mother and nephew went with. My nephew is 9 and he was very excited to see his 'alien cousin', as he kept calling her. It was a cute place and the two women who helped us were very nice and very easy going. It was very relaxing just like the website said it would be. They have lot of package options to choose from. So once we filled out the paperwork and chose our package, we headed back to the ultrasound room. It was almost like a living room. It had a nice sized couch and some chairs that faced a big screen TV so that everyone could watch. There were a bunch of toys on the floor too so after my nephew

Update 09/26/11

How far along: 28 weeks 5 days...79 days to go! Size of baby: Almost the size of a squash Maternity Clothes: Nothing new in the past week Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Lots and lots! What I miss: My energy! My more stable moods! Cravings: I'm not really craving much of anything. Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time, no headaches, ankles swell occasionally, heartburn and backaches are the worst! Today's check up went well. Little Miss must have been moving around a lot this morning because her heartbeat was 156! But the doctor said everything looks good. I'm measuring well, my weight is on track, no crazy symptoms to report. It's all good! I go back on October 17th for my next ultrasound and after that, I have to go every two weeks! I didn't realize how close it was until she she said every two weeks! Little Miss is moving around quite a bit. I still notice it mostly when I'm hungry and after I've eaten. So she is telling me to give her some food

17 Tips - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy - #1 Take a Prenatal Vitamin Even when you're still trying to conceive, it's smart to start taking prenatal vitamins. Your baby's neural cord, which becomes the brain and spinal cord, develops within the first month of pregnancy, so it's important you get essential nutrients, like folic acid, calcium, and iron, from the very start. Prenatal vitamins are available over the counter at most drug stores, or you can get them by prescription from your doctor. If taking them makes you feel queasy, try taking them at night or with a light snack. Chewing gum or sucking on hard candy afterward can help, too. It took me a little while to get into the habit of taking my prenatal vitamin. I wasn't used to taking anything daily since I had been off the pill for a few months. I finally got myself in the habit of taking it every morning. I just take an over the counter vitamin. It has the same nutrients as a doctor prescribed vitamin but is less hass

17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

I don't know if I'm going to post an update tomorrow or not so I'm going to post this instead. This is an article I got from Parents.com . I love when they send me articles like this. It reassures me that I'm doing the right things for Little Miss. 17 Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy I think I'll break this out into individual posts for each point like I did before. It gives me a chance to explain the kinds of things I'm doing during my pregnancy.

Update 09/14/11

How far along: 27 weeks Size of baby: Size of an eggplant. Maternity Clothes: Nothing new in the past week Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Finally! What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Mostly carbs like potatoes and pasta. Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time, no headaches, ankles swell occasionally, heartburn and backaches are the worst! The past week has been pretty mellow. Nothing really new or exciting to report. Little Miss is still kicking when she wants to. I notice it mostly when I'm hungry and after I've eaten. So she is telling me to give her some food and then is thanking me for feeding her by kicking the crap out of me! The 3D ultrasound is getting closer! Only 10 more days until we get verification that this is in deed a Little Miss! I can't wait to find out so I can finish the registry and start the nursery! The first few nights I used the baby dopplar, I found the heartbeat right away. Now I tried it again two nights ago and

Update 09/07/11

How far along: 26 weeks Size of baby: Size of an eggplant. Maternity Clothes: I just bought some really comfy jeans at Motherhood Maternity. Gender: Baby Girl! Movement: Finally! What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Mostly carbs like potatoes and pasta. Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time, no headaches, ankles swell all of the time, heartburn and backaches are the worst! I haven't updated since my last doctor's appointment and, boy, has a lot happened! The first exciting thing that has happened is that I think I can finally feel my little baby monster kicking! The kicking started late last week and hasn't stopped! I am so happy to finally be able to feel her. My Mom told me to stop worrying about it, that once she starts I will want her to stop! I guess I will have to wait a few more weeks for the excitement of it to wear off though because I just want to feel her moving around all the time! The second exciting thing that happened is th

7 Uses for Coconuts!

I found this article in my Woman's World magazine (July 18, 2011, Page 22) and I wanted to share it with you. The article provides 7 ways to use coconut juices and oils. I thought some of them could be quite beneficial, even to a preggo like me! 1. Ease stress and anxiety - "Research reveals that the scent alone is powerful enough to relax your nervous system and calm you down. The scent triggers the limbic system, the brain area responsible for mood and memory." How to use it: "Dab on some coconut scented body lotion to enjoy the benefit instantly! Or light a scented coconut candle whenever you feel stressed." 2. Fight off infections - "Coconut oil is made up of nearly 50% lauric acid, which research reveals strengthens immunity and kills 99% of bacteria, viruses and fungi on contact!" How to use it: "Three tablespoons of oil daily provide enough lauric acid to help prevent illness. Two tablespoons, three times daily can cut your recovery

Make Stubborn Stains Dissapear!

This is another article I found in my Woman's World magazine (July 18, 2011, Page 34). This one gives some easy ways to get rid of stubborn stains. Most of these stain removers are every-day household items and the other ones are easily obtainable. Makeup Stain - Eliminate with HAIRSPRAY - Spritz the stain with hairspray, let it sit for 10 minutes and then wipe clean with a cloth. Rinse in hot water and launder as usual. Coffee Stain - Eliminate with TOOTHPASTE - Wet the area with cold water, then run a peas-sized amount of whitening toothpaste on the spot. Wait two minutes and then rinse with cold water. Sweat Stains - Eliminate with ASPIRIN - Crush three aspirin tablets in a bowl and add enough water to make a paste. Spread on stains and let sit overnight. In the morning, rinse with hot water and your whites should be bright again. Ink Stain - Eliminate with HAND SANITIZER - Saturate the stain with sanitizer, then blot with paper towel. Repeat until the stain is gone.
