  • I don't think I'm going to post baby updates every week or every other week like I did last time.  I think I'm just going to post updates when I have doctor's appointments or when something cool happens.  I'm not trying to 'rob' the second child of his or her time to shine, I just don't want to bore people with the same information every week.
  • That being said, I am 10 weeks along and my next doctor's appointment is next Monday.  Yay!  We didn't hear the heartbeat at the first appointment because I was only 7 weeks so we will get to hear it this time.  I'm not sure when my first ultrasound will be but I'm hoping it's soon!
  • This pregnancy has been much different from Baby Girl's.  I have been much more nauseous this time around so I have been eating less.  I have lost a few pounds rather than gained five already like I did last time.  Last week I was able to eat more but then Friday was a bad day again.
  • Even though I have lost weight, my belly has 'popped' and I feel like I'm four months pregnant!  I think I'll post my first baby bump photo next week after my doctor's appointment.
  • I am sick, sick, sick!  I guess I got whatever my husband had because I feel terrible!  Not sure I'm going to gain any weight this week with how bad I feel.  I tried having some animal crackers and water and that did not work.  Hot tea?  Nope.  I just want to curl up in my warm bed and sleep.  Hopefully it won't last long.
  • I feel really bad because we are going away this week and I'm going to be sick.  My husband thought that it might be nice for us to get away as a family for a few days.  He has a friend with a timeshare in the Poconos so we are headed out there tomorrow night.  I really hope that this sickness eases up so I can have a good time.  At least I'll be able to get some rest.
  • I don't know why I didn't check out Old Navy's maternity department more with Baby Girl.  I ordered a pair of jeans, a pair of khakis and a few shirts and I love them all.  Plus they are so much cheaper than most other places.
  • Baby Girl is on a strong antibiotic for her ear infection and it's making her poop non stop.  The poor girl has diaper rash so badly.  I probably spent $30 this weekend on all kinds of creams to help her out.  I hope it clears up soon.  Any good remedies?
  • I'm not looking forward to seeing the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, especially since the closest one that uses our insurance is over an hour away!  I'm not sure how I feel about the tubes in the ears but the whole things scares me.  Do I have anything to worry about?
  • I'm really sad the 49ers lost the Superbowl.  They aren't my team, they are my husband's, but I was routing for them.  I really thought they were making a comeback but they just couldn't pull it off in the end.  It's OK.  The QB is so young so it's a better luck next year kind of thing.
  • Half time show?  I didn't really like it.  Beyonce has a beautiful voice.  I wish she would have sang a little more and shaken her ass a little less.
  • I wasn't overly impressed with the commercials this year.  Some of them were OK.  I think the one that really stood out to me was the Taco Bell commercial.   But I thought that there were a lot of serious commercials this year (Budweiser, Jeep, Dodge).  Oh and the GoDaddy commercial with Bar Refaeli kissing the nerd.....actually made me want to vomit.  It was disgusting.  My favorite commercial of all time is the VW Darth Vader commercial from last year.  I laugh every single time I see that commercial.

  3. How bad is little ones rash? I use vaseline to prevent any from happening. When Emma had a really bad one ( like it started looking like hard skin) we called her Dr and she told us to use Desitin at every change and then to use Lotrimin (yes for foot fungus) 2-3 times a day. It cleared it up very well and ever since we just use vaseline to make sure it doesn't happen again. It happened not long after we brought her from the hospital whivh was where it started.

  4. The "belly pop" always happens sooner the second time around! I think by the time I hit 10 weeks, I couldn't button my pants anymore. First time around, I don't think I even wore maternity clothes till 6 months.

The best diaper rash cream I ever used was Aveeno. After the rash is cleared up, use something like the Balmex or Desitin Multi Purpose Ointment to prevent it from happening again. When you use that stuff, it creates a barrier. I used it at every diaper change, and my kids never got a rash. Hope you and baby girl feel better soon! :)

Blog Commenting Challenge!

Linking up with Jenna's Journey  for the 3rd Annual Blog Commenting Challenge! Hi! I'm Vanessa! I live with my husband Bryan and my amazing 6 month old Ashlyn in Pennsylvania. I was born and raised here and love it very much! We have 2 pugs, Katie and Utley, one black lab, Camo and one cat, Joey. Our second cat, Kitty, is sadly recently deceased (on Father's Day). I work full time as a Marketing Analyst for a supply chain consulting firm. I don't even know what that means really! I have been here for 3 years and am thinking about a career change. SAHM is looking better and better. My husband owns his own landscaping business which has been both wonderful and horrible at the same time! My husband and I know each other for about 17 years now and we have been together for 12. We got married in September of 2010, just 2 weeks shy of our 10th anniversary! We got pregnant after only 2 months of trying and last December we were greeted by Ashlyn Marie Miller,

I'm Not Gonna Lie

Anyone who knows me know that I LOVE Christmas.  I love the decorations.  I love to decorate my own house and see all of the other cool decorations other people have.  There is a house down the street from us that always has more lights and decorations than I have ever seen in one yard.  It's a bit much but it's an attention grabber. I love the Christmas tree.  I love to get the tree out each year (yes we have a fake because I can't stand the needles) and I love to decorate it.  Growing up, our family would decorate the tree together with all kinds of ornaments that we had collected over the years.  I like to do themes for my trees.  Last year I did pink and silver in honor of the newest member of our family.  I'm really hoping to instill the tradition of decorating the tree with my kids. I love finding the perfect gifts for people and I love to watch their reactions when they open those gifts.  I generally wait until I have purchased ALL of my gifts, I sort them

Big News!

We have been trying very hard to keep this to ourselves for just a little while longer but I can't wait anymore!    Baby Miller #2...due 09/01/13!!!!!!!!! I am 8 weeks and 1 day I have known since Christmas Eve I am much more tired and much more nauseous this time around I haven't gained a single pound yet, unlike last time I am not so secretly hoping it's another girl If this one is anything like Baby Girl, he or she will be born mid-August I've been leaving hints all over the place but no one noticed! I am so excited!   I've already had one doctor's appointment but I was only 7 weeks so there wasn't much to do.  We couldn't hear the heartbeat or anything so the next appointment will be much more exciting!  My next appointment isn't until February 11th so that's when I'll get to hear and possibly see my next little monster!  So exciting!   PS:  Notice the blog title?!
