Update 07/05/11

How far along: 16 weeks 6 days Size of baby: Almost the size of an onion Maternity Clothes: I bought a few more things from Motherhood Maternity online. I really love their clothes! Gender: Still unknown!! Find out August 1st! Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing as far as I know. I should start to feel her moving soon. What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Spaghetti, cheddar goldfish, potatoes, sweets! Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time and I am still getting headaches, which are pretty bad. I have been much more moody lately as well. Today's check-up was easy. I only gained 3 pounds since my last check-up, which is awesome. She measured my belly and she said it's fine. We got to hear the heartbeat again and now my husband is convinced that we are having a boy because the heart rate is 149. We will find that out for sure August 1st. The doctor answered my list of questions, which I had been ...

Update 06/23/11

How far along: 15 weeks Size of baby: Size of an apple Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any new maternity clothes since my last shopping trip. I have found a dress or two in my closet that are actually perfect for me right now though! Gender: Still unknown!! Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing as far as I know. What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Spaghetti, chips, cheese curls, sweets! Symptoms: I'm still very tired all of the time and I am still getting headaches. This past week has been worse than most because I have been feeling sick every morning and Monday morning I even threw up my bagel! I hope this isn't a sign of things to come :( I haven't been feeling well at all this past week. Breakfast has become a thing of the past since I threw up my routine bagel on Monday. Not sure what's going on with that but I'm sure it's all part of the process. Fortunately it's only been i...

Update 06/16/11

How far along: 14 weeks Size of baby: Size of a lemon Maternity Clothes: I haven't bought any new maternity clothes since my last shopping trip. Gender: Unknown at this point Movement: Although the baby is moving around in there, I still can't feel a thing. What I miss: My energy! I am still so very tired. Cravings: Spaghetti, cheese curls, sweets! Symptoms: I'm still tired a lot and the headaches are coming more frequently. July 5th is the next checkup and it seems like it's FOREVER away! I'm a little dissapointed because the next appointment is not for an ultrasound, it's just a regular check up. At the next checkup, I will be just about 17 weeks and I was hoping for an ultrasound so that we could find out the sex of the baby right away. They say I have to wait until August 1st for that! I can't wait to find out what the little monster is! I'm so hoping it's a little girl but then we have to face the name dilemma. My husband has turned his...

Baby Gender Party

A co-worker of mine sent me the coolest idea I have ever heard in my life! Thanks Lisa! Gender Reveal Party I just think this is the cutest idea ever!! I have been talking with my husband about it for a few weeks now and he's just not into it. He wants to know the gender immediately! I'm ok with waiting if it's a surprise like this one! Of course my Mom loves the idea and is ready and willing to help me with whatever I need. I already have invitiations made! I would have it at a restaurant or at home. If my husband won't give in, then my backup plan is to find out the gender of the baby and keep everyone else guessing. It will still be fun to see what everyone's guess is and see the reactions. Any comments? Are these gender parties going overboard?

The Ultimate Argument

So, is it normal that my husband and I are already calling the baby he or she? I want a little girl, of course, so I refer to the baby as 'she'. He wants a boy, of course, so he refers to the baby as 'he'. And now our friends are in on this as well. My best friends refers to the baby as 'she' while her girlfriend refers to the baby as 'he'. Now I know we should all just be hoping for a happy, healthy baby regardless of the gender but isn't it fun?! For example, I am not a sweets person. I have never enjoyed eating a lot of chocolate or cake. But, this little baby of mine loves sweets! She is always wanting chocolate and candy. So the fun part is telling my husband that and freaking him out. "You know they say that if I'm craving sweets, it's probably a girl!" Now I know this doesn't really matter. I know that at this point there's a 50% chance of a boy or girl but it's so much fun to see the look on my husb...
