Beachbody

If you've been following my sporadic blog posts you know that I've been on a serious weight loss journey this year.  I'm happy to report that I am only 11 pounds away from my goal weight.  This makes me very happy and very excited! I was doing a lot of cardio, mostly jogging, and some Jillian and free online videos.  I was also watching my calorie intake and trying to eat healthier.  My biggest issue is my belly and that has been slowly going away. I started doing PiYo and it has been the most amazing thing ever.  I am on my third week and I can't even tell you how awesome I think PiYo is!  The first week alone I lost 6lbs and 4.5 inches overall.  I couldn't believe the results! So I became a Beachbody coach.  I haven't done much with it yet because I want to make sure that I have proof the products work but I have spoken to quite a few people about PiYo.  I can't promote this program enough. It's a low impact combination of Pila...

Father's Day

It seems almost pointless to even blog about it now but I did post about Mother's Day so it's only right that I dedicate a post to Father's Day, even if it was a month ago! First the gifts.  For my husband's first Father's Day, I had bought him a three frame picture frame and I had taken Ashlyn's photos and photo shopped the letters DAD onto the photos.  It looked really cute but I wanted to recreate that this year to include our son. The kids got him this cute block with a picture holder on top. They also got him this really awesome burlap print.  My husband used to hunt a lot.  He would go every day he could and would even go for weekend trips.  Since we had kids, his hunting has gone WAY down!  He really hardly goes at all  so this is perfect for him! I also got him a few cigars.  You know, to celebrate being a father!  Ashlyn picked him out a pretty ridiculous tshirt, some beef jerky and a box of gummies that she ...

Ten Months

The basics? Diapers - Size 4 but using cloth more and more Clothing - 12-18 month Food - Everything and anything!  Eating more regular foods every day. Sleeping - Through the night! Teeth - Eight chompers with the possibility of one or two more Words - ba ba, da da, ma ma Favorite toy - Activity cube, anything he's not supposed to play with Well since I just posted his 9 month update, I'll make this one a little shorter. Not much has changed with this little guy.  He's still wearing 12-18 month clothing.  He's still wearing size 4 diapers and I'm still transitioning to cloth.  He's been eating well, as usual.  He's still sleeping really well.  Naps depend on the day.  Sometimes he takes two shorter naps and sometimes he takes one long one. He still loves bath time and has been loving all of the time we've been spending in the pool.  He loves to splash.  He's a speed crawler and has been pulling...

Life's a Beach

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the beach.  Friends of ours have a condo in Ocean City, MD and they invited us to spend the weekend.  We spent some time on the beach and some time in the pool.  We spent some time on the MD boardwalk and went to the Rehoboth boardwalk.  We ate some really good food (and some really bad food).  We stayed up late and slept in.  It was Ashlyn's second time at the beach and Bryan's first time.  Ashlyn loved the sand but not the water.  Bryan loved the water but not the sand.  The both had a lot of fun on the beach and in the pool and as a family, we all had a great time!   He wasn't phased by the water at all.  He just took it all in.   She spent all of her time building sand castles with Daddy.   This was just after she took a tumble in the water.  A wave knocked her right on her but and then onto her back.  She was not a happy girl.   ...

Nine Months!

By the time I get this dam thing posted I'll need to post his ten month update! The basics? Diapers - Size 4 but using cloth more and more Clothing - 12-18 month Food - Everything and anything!  Eating more regular foods every day. Sleeping - Through the night! Teeth - Eight chompers with the possibility of one or two more Words - ba ba, da da, mu mu Favorite toy - Activity cube, anything he's not supposed to play with His 9 month check up was great.  He's not such a little dude anymore!  He weighed in at 21lbs 4 ounces (75%) and was 31 inches long (99%)!!!!  I can't believe how tall this little dude is.  He's a full 2 inches taller than his sister was at that age.  The best part about it is that he is only one pound shy of his sister at a year and he is already taller than his sister was at a year.  Such a big boy! Little man is still rocking the 12 and 18 month clothing.  He still fits into some of his...

Mother's Day Madness

Oh this poor blog.  I'm so far behind I haven't even blogged about Mother's Day yet!  Well, here goes. Mother's Day was good and bad.  My husband decided that we were going to spend Saturday night into Sunday at his brother's house.  He lives about an hour and a half away from us.  We have spent a few weekends at his house and it's always pretty much the same.  Kids don't want to sleep so Mommy doesn't get to sleep. The guys were going to go out into the woods and tent camp for the night and then come back in the morning and make breakfast.  We got a pretty bad storm, though, so they decided to just sleep in the back yard.  Yes, these men are weird. I fully expected to wake up to breakfast Sunday but that wasn't the case.  Unfortunately, whenever my husband and his brother get together, they forget about everyone else.  My sister in law and I had to nag until they finally made breakfast! Once breakfast ...

So What Wednesday

So what if it my son has been a giant crap head this week.  Seriously. This kid has been possessed.  He has been whiny and clingy and inconsolable.  He has fought bed time every single night for the past three nights and has been waking 2-3 times each night and refuses to go back to sleep easily. He seems to want me to hold him at all times but even that doesn't seem to calm him at all.  He just whines and cries most of the time. He does have a cold that has left him with a terrible, rattling cough, but he's had it before and he was not nearly as miserable.  He also has had a low grade fever (99.1 at last temp check) which hardly even qualifies as a fever.  I've been pumping him full of Tylenol which seems to help a little bit but not much. I can deal with the whining and complaining and even the clinginess.  But the not sleeping through the night?  I can't deal with that shit.  Last night the only way he would sleep w...
